Set in the Death Cure au
———-
"Put some pressure on it. You'll be ok, Tom." She spoke, quietly as she frantically pressed the antiseptic cloth against his stomach. Her hands were covered in his blood, her body trembling in fear as leaked tears streamed down her cheeks. Teresa pressed harder against the bullet wound, desperately trying to stop the blood loss. No. She couldn't lose him.He silently stared at her, slumped against the counter as he held his shirt up with his hand. Her beautiful blue eyes were full of flowing tears, her gaze focused on his wound as she slowly crawled closer to him. Thomas would deny it to his friends but he truly missed her.
"You need to go. You need to go, Teresa." He responded, wanting her to have fighting chance in escaping as he watched her pink lips tremble.
"No. I'm not leaving you." She whispered, softly as she determinedly held his gaze. Their eyes locked, burning with unknown emotions as faint sounds of rumbling could be heard in the distance.Teresa slightly moved closer to him, her hands trembled as they stared at one another.
"If you die, I die." She whispered under her breath, quietly as she saw a soft glimmer in his brown eyes. There was no life for her without Thomas, she needed him like he was her oxygen."Teresa...." Thomas muttered, quietly as he stared into her watery blue eyes. He was breathing in deeply, not knowing if it was the pain from bullet wound or the girl beside him. She was a vision of beauty, glistening tears ran down her cheeks as he could briefly feel her hands tremble against his stomach.
Teresa could feel his intense gaze burning the back of her head as she glanced back at the blood stained cloth and checked on his wound. She was desperately trying and failing to hold her tears back, slightly blurring her vision.
"Don't cry...." He whispered, softly as he slowly wiped her tears with his thumb. He caressed her cheek, his fingers wet as more of her tears escaped her blue eyes.
"I can't lose you, Tom." She muttered, softly as she clutched his blood stained shirt.Their eyes remained locked, the outside world becoming distant as he bought her more closer to him. Teresa gently wiped the blood off his forehead, her breathing shaky as they continued to stare at one another. Thomas's hand still caressed her wet cheek as she unknowingly leaned into his soothing touch.
"You can't get rid of me that easily." He murmured, softly as he felt himself becoming lost in her beautiful blue eyes.
Sudden sounds of hurried footsteps approaching broke the silence, her watery blue eyes nervously flicked to the door. Janson was hunting for them, ready to use his gun but she wouldn't let him hurt Thomas.
"Stay here. I'll distract him." She whispered, quietly as she slowly released her hand from his shirt. Her body was still trembling, her hands slightly shaky as she willed herself to stay strong. She had to protect him.
Teresa saw his brown eyes darkened and his jaw clench at the mention of Janson as he quickly glanced at the door. He turned his gaze back onto her, silently processing her words as his face twisted into a concern look.
"Be careful...." Thomas muttered, softly as he slowly wiped the last of her tears off her cheeks. He didn't want her to get hurt, even if she was trying to save him.
She smiled softly, pressing a light kiss on his eyelid as she felt him instantly melt against her.Teresa lifted herself off the ground, quietly as she walked towards the door, looking out for Janson. There was silence filling the air again as distant sounds of the building rumbling echoed. He breathed in shakily, loving her warm touch as his lips tilted up into a small smile. All they had to do now was get out. Together.
