Set in the Death Cure au
———
Few months have passed, the breeze hitting their faces as the jeep sped up with full force. It's eye on the WICKED train, destination for the last city or what they knew was their main headquarters. There was no turning back now.

"Are you ready?" Vince shouted, authority in his voice as he further pressed the accelerator down.
"Let's do this." Newt responded, firmly as his pale hand brushed against his gun on his hip.

"We need to get more closer." Thomas spoke, determined as his hand tightly gripped around the door handle. The train was on a steady trail, headed straight towards the last city and according to the Right Arm, they were holding immunes within their carriages.

His jaw clenched and knew there was a chance that Teresa was on that train too. The girl that haunted his dreams every night ever since she left them. He couldn't let her slip through his fingers this time, not caring that their sole objective was to rescue the captured immunes.

He glanced at Newt who immediately understood what he was thinking and nodded in silent support. WICKED could crash and burn to mere ashes but they were ready to find their lost friend and bring her back to where she belonged.

"Now!" Vince shouted, loudly as he gave the signal and watched Jorge take over with the steering wheel. He and Thomas jumped onto the ladder of the carriage, breathing heavily as Minho slammed the doors shut behind them.

Jorge gritted his teeth in irritation as he noticed they had caught the attention of the WICKED guards and increased the speed before Minho and Brenda began shooting at them from the roof. They had to distract them and buy some time for their friends.

"Are you almost finished, Newt?" Thomas yelled as he crouched on the top of the carriage, his large hand on his gun holster. Gunshots rang into the air from both sides, WICKED guards trying to secure the perimeters as Vince raised his gun and pulled the trigger, causing a WICKED guard to abruptly collapse onto the ground.

"Don't rush me!" Newt responded, trying to ignore the chaos surrounding him as he focused on his assigned task. He quickly grinned in victory and watched the carriage separate from the other part of the train before he nodded at Thomas in confirmation. It was done.

"Go! Now!" Thomas shouted, determinedly as he pulled his gun out and pulled the trigger. The short cries of pain from the WICKED guards rang in the air as he provided cover for his friend who grabbed onto the back ladder in response.

The train screeched on its wheels as the WICKED guards quickly started retreating, overwhelmed by the sudden ambush from the gladers. It continued on its journey towards the last city where WICKED would soon find out that something valuable has been taken by the Right Arm.

"We are in clear! They're gone!" Vince yelled, loudly as he gestured for Minho and Brenda to stop.
"Thank bloody god...." Newt responded, quietly as he jumped off the back ladder onto the ground.

Thomas breathed heavily, adrenaline still running through his veins as he stood up and watched the train grow smaller in the distance. He instantly glanced down at the carriage and hoped the person he was searching for was inside, his hands already unscrewing the locks off the edges.

"Someone's impatient." Jorge spoke, intrigued as he stared up at Thomas. He briefly saw Brenda frown and glance away from the carriage.
"Let the shank do what he wants. It's better that way." Minho responded, already understanding what Thomas was doing and hoped luck was in their favour.

"I'll help you, Tommy." Newt spoke, calmly as he saw the desperation on Thomas's face. His pale hands busy taking care of the screw locks on his side of the carriage as the door slowly began creaking open, sunlight entering the darkness inside.

The door was eventually pried open as Thomas intently stared down at the metal cage within, the sunlight hitting her unconscious angelic face. His breath became stolen at the sight of her and felt the cracks in his heart slowly start to heal, she was here.

"I've finally found you...." Thomas muttered, quietly as he stared at a unconscious Teresa with intense longing. In that moment, he knew that after this he wasn't ever going to let her go.
