Set in the Death Cure au
———-
"What? Scared your little girlfriend will get hurt." Newt spoke, a serious expression on his face as he stared at Thomas. He noticed Thomas was hesitant in using Teresa in their mission to find Minho.

"What are you talking about?" Thomas whispered, quietly as he stared at Newt.
"Teresa. We have a chance to rescue Minho and you don't want to. Because of her." Newt responded, firmly as he stood up and walked up to him.

Disbelief clouded Newt's eyes, watching Thomas avoid his gaze as he stayed silent and motionless. The reason became obvious now.

"You still care about her, don't you?" Newt spoke, firmly as he stepped towards Thomas. Unknown emotions swirled in his brown eyes, silently staring at Newt as words were clogged in his throat.

"Just admit it. Deep down, you still care about her." Newt shouted, angrily as he stepped forward and cornered Thomas against the wall. He noticed Thomas didn't reply, his silence answered for him.

"If Teresa was here, would you be able to say you hate her?" Newt spoke, firmly as his frustration was clouding his mind.
"Newt, I...." Thomas whispered, quietly as he found it hard to find his words.

He glanced behind Newt, trying to imagine Teresa standing there. Just like Newt said. She would stare at him with sad beautiful blue eyes, holding back her tears as the pain of their separation was still there.

His jaw clenched, trying to find the words to say he hated her as he watched her soft pink lips tremble. She walked up to him, staring at him longingly and stopped in front of him.
"Tom...." She whispered, softly as her dark raven hair swayed in the breeze.

He couldn't do it....Even if they had their differences, she was still important to him. He had a deep connection with the blue eyed beauty, something he didn't want to break.

"Don't lie to me." Newt shouted, angrily as he knew Thomas would try to deny it. He watched the conflicting emotions on Thomas's face and knew he was right.

"I do...." Thomas muttered in a barely audible voice as he couldn't deny it any longer. He still cared about her. Newt silently stared at him, stepping backwards before he walked away and left the room.

Jorge, Frypan and Brenda were frozen and stunned at the loud exchange between the two best friends. They didn't know what to do.
"You need to be careful about Teresa." Brenda spoke, firmly as she processed Thomas's quiet words.

Irritation spread through her chest, now knowing Thomas still cared about Teresa even after what she did. He clearly didn't want her involved.

"You don't have to worry about that, Brenda." Thomas muttered, quietly as he glanced at Brenda. He knew Teresa didn't want to hurt him, her glistening tears spoke for her. She was always stubbornly lingering in the back of his head.
