Set after the Death Cure au
Warning: Suicide
———
The ocean water looked so cold and empty, full of crashing waves as she silently looked down. Leaked tears streamed down her cheeks as she slowly glanced back and said her goodbyes in her head, a small remorseful smile on her face. She didn't deserve to live.

Teresa jumped, the wind hitting her face as she swallowed the lump of emotion in her throat and welcomed the embrace of death. In the end, she had no one. Her head became submerged underwater as her body slowly sank into the water, her tearful blue eyes staring at the surface.

Goodbye, Tom.
I love you.

The world would soon forget the memory of a dark haired girl who just wanted to find a cure and save people. She tried....Dark spots soon entered her vision, her head feeling lighter as she waited for her life to end. Visions of her best friend, the boy she loves flashed in her mind as she closed her blue eyes for the last time.

A loud splash suddenly entered her ears, feeling herself being pulled into strong muscular arms as she was carried to the surface.
"Teresa!" A familiar voice shouted as the large hands cradled her face in concern before slanting his mouth against her, gently breathing in air.

"Teresa! Teresa....Don't leave me...." The voice begged over and over again as he gathered her into his arms, pressed her against his chest.

"Tommy, I don't think she's alive...." Newt spoke, quietly as he placed his hand on his shoulder in comfort. He watched Thomas hold a unconscious Teresa in his arms, tears running down his face as he softly stroked her hair.
"No....You can't leave me....Teresa...." Thomas murmured, his face buried in her wet raven hair as his chest ached. He never got to tell her.

"Tommy...." Newt muttered under his breath as he felt bad for Thomas, knowing how much he cared for her. He briefly heard the others arriving and glanced back, noticing the loud footsteps stopped. They were silently staring at Thomas cradling a lifeless Teresa in his arms and saw the tears running down his face.

"Newt, what happened?" Minho spoke, quietly as he stared at Newt.
"We saw Teresa jump into the water...." Newt whispered as he felt shivers run down his back, remembering the look of acceptance on Teresa's face before she jumped. He never saw Thomas run that fast in his life.

Minho had a pained look in his face as he watched Thomas desperately begging Teresa to wake up. He knew the deep connection between the two.

"Come back....Teresa....come back....I'm sorry....Teresa...." Thomas murmured over and over again, his face twisted into a pained look. His brown eyes were filled with tears, his face still buried in her hair as memories of them swirled in his mind. He lost her.

A gasp and cough suddenly broke the silence, causing all heads to snap towards the trembling girl in Thomas's strong arms. She unknowingly clutched his shirt, her blue eyes opening as she took in her surroundings. She stared up at darkened brown eyes, water dripping from his brown hair as he silently stared back at her.

"Is this heaven?" She whispered, softly as her blue eyes glistened with tears.
"Never scare me like that again...." He muttered under his breath as he pressed his wet forehead against hers.
"Tom...." She muttered, quietly as disbelief clouded her blue eyes. Sparkling tears streamed down her cheeks, realising he saved her.

Newt and Minho felt instant relief that Teresa was alive, both knowing they never wanted her to die. They silently watched Thomas scoop her up into his arms as she cried into his chest, heading towards the camp.

He protectively tightened his hold on her, never wanting to let go as he carried her in his arms. Her face was buried in his chest, tears staining his shirt.
Teresa, I love you too.
