"What a treat to see you here, y/n!" you hear Arthur say as you walk into the kitchen. He's standing with Charlie, his second eldest son.
"Nice to see you too, Arthur," you say, soon exchanging a hug (he insists on you calling him Arthur, because Mr. Weasley is too formal when you are like family to him).
"Man... y/n y/l/n" Charlie says, pulling you into a hug. "You've grown like five feet since I've seen you last."
"Mmm, I doubt that," you say with a smile. Last time you saw him was summer before last. He was busy in Romania last summer. He promises you to take you with him sometime after you graduate, because you've always been interested in his work with dragons. "Is Bill here?" you ask. (You wanted to ask about Percy, but you know that's been a sensitive topic in this house for years now, and it's best to not say anything.)
Both men shake their heads no. "He's been quite busy this summer, though he says he might have time to slip away for the Christmas holiday" says Arthur.
"So, how's school? Last year, right?" asks Charlie.
"Yup."
"So that makes you seventeen now?"
You nod in response.
"I remember when I was your age, you were still a child."
"Yah, must've been nine around then."
"Pretty soon I'll be attending your wedding" he says.
You both laugh, thinking that the idea of you getting married is crazy right now, but you think about it a little and it doesn't seem quite crazy.
"I do have a boyfriend actually. And he's here with me. He's the blonde one." You gesture to the room you just came from. "His name's Draco Malfoy."
Arthur shudders at the name. "Let's hope he's not at all like his father."
"Oh no, not at all. He's actually stayed with me this summer, because he wants to get away from his parents."
"As long as he treats you right."
"He does, Arthur. He's perfect."

After a while of talking, you go back to the living room, and sit next to Draco, on the floor. You lie down and put your head on his leg. His hands gently brush through your hair as the room fills with chatter.
"Check mate!" Ginny says, throwing her hands in the air.
"No, Ginny. I've still got this rook..." Luna continues to slide her rook down 5 spaces, defeating Ginny's queen. "Sorry Gin."
"DAMMIT!" Ginny shouts.
"LANGUAGE GINNY!" Arthur shouts from the kitchen.
"I never knew that one was called the rook" you say. "I always just called it the castle."
Draco gives you a questioning look.
"It looks like a castle, okay!"
"I need to teach you how to play chess sometime." He shakes his head in disapproval.
"I know how to play chess. Ron taught me when we were kids. We used to play all the time."
"Did someone say my name?" Ron perks up when he heard you say Ron from across the room.
"We were just talking about how y/n calls the rook a castle" Draco says.
"Oh yah. And she calls the bishop the diagonal one and the knight the horse." He smiles, remembering when you were kids and used to play chess all the time together.
You laugh, covering your face with your hands.
"Y/n!" Draco says. "Horse is understandable I guess, but diagonal one!?"
Soon, there's a knock on the door, and Hermione jumps up welcomes Neville into The Burrow.
"Hey guys! Hope I didn't miss dinner." He steps into the living room, greeting everyone just as you did an hour ago.
Since you're laying on the floor and have no motivation to stand up, you extend your arm when he comes around to you, and he slaps your hand with a high five. "Nice to see you, Nev."
"Nice seeing you too, y/n." He holds his hand out again, and you quickly realize he's offering a high five to Draco as well, which your boyfriend gladly accepts.
"Mr. Longbottom, how very lovely it is to see you, dear!" Mrs. Weasley says as she walks into the kitchen. "Dinner is almost ready. I hope you're hungry."
"I'm starving" he says, dropping his bags at the foot of the stairs, then going to help Molly in the kitchen. Neville really is the nicest one here. He's always willing help everyone and he's such a gentleman. Sometimes you wonder why he's not in Hufflepuff.

After dinner, all the kids make their way back to the living room. As in kids, there's you, Draco, Hermione, Ron, Harry, Ginny, Luna, and Neville.
"So, shall we play a game?" Hermione asks as she takes a seat next to Ron on the sofa across from the one you're sitting on. He puts a hand around her shoulder and she gets comfortable against him.
"How about Magic Monopoly?" Ginny suggests. Magic Monopoly is simply just Monopoly, but you can move the pieces by talking (that way, you can be lazy and not have to get up).
You spend a good hour or two downstairs playing the game. You kind of lost track of time. It's comforting seeing all your friends happy with their partners; Ginny's sitting on an armchair with her legs crossed, running her fingers through Harry's hair, who's sitting in front of her on the floor. Hermione's cuddled up against Ron. You're sitting with your legs up on a sofa, while Draco lays in between your legs.
The only single people around are Neville and Luna. It's quite a shame, because they seem like they'd be perfect together.
