Every other year, Hogwarts has a Spring Ball on the first Friday of Spring, which is this Friday.

Everyone has been rushing around trying to find dates and everything, but you don't need to worry about that. Draco hasn't formally asked you yet, and you're excited to see how he will.

"So 'Mione, you have a date?" You ask, sitting in your dorm.

She shakes her head as if it were obvious. You can tell that Ron is on her mind,  but you don't want to force it out of her.

The whole day, you've whitenesses people being asked out. Then everyone around them cheers, and they hug. It makes your heart happy.

At dinner, through the excited chatter, you turn your head when you see Neville stand up on his bench a couple seats away from you. He steps up onto the table catching the attention of his girlfriend Luna a table over sitting with her fellow Ravenclaws. "My sweet darling Luna! WILL YOU GO TO THE BALL WITH ME?" His voice echoes through the hall, making people from all houses turn their heads. She too stands up on her table. "Of course I will, Neville!" They climb off the benches and meet in the middle with a cute peck on the lips and a hug. You look behind you to make eye contact with Draco. He raises and eyebrow.

You're sitting in the grass with Ginny having a small picnic after your classes finish. "So how did Harry ask you?"

She gets all giddy. "Well I was in potions class- he really chose the worst class to do it in- anyways, so he barges in with Ron, Dean, Seamus and Neville, and they were all singing some stupid song he made up."

"Oh wow. Bet Snape had fun giving them detention."

"He actually didn't. He was all red and disturbed though."

"That's amazing Ginny... do you think Ron asked anyone?"

"I'm not sure he has. When I talked to him last, he was thinking about asking out Lavender though."

"He better not ask out Lavender."

"I know, right." Ginny looks at something behind you and nods her head for you to look.

You turn around see Draco. You stand up to meet his grey eyes. "Will you go to the spring ball with me, y/n."

"That's it? You're just gonna flat out ask me?" You're kind of surprised, but it's nothing to get heated about because he's introverted and you wouldn't expect him to burst into your class or stand on a table.

"Well, no," he says.

He pulls out a white rose from his black suit and gives it to you. "And I had doves but I don't know where they went" he says, looking through the sky.

"You're cute," you say, giving him a hug.

He sits down with you and Ginny. You talk for a few minutes before you notice a couple of white birds flying towards you.

"There's the doves" Draco says.

They zoom past ur face and you have to dodge them. "Wow, nice going" you laugh with the others as a dove plops itself to sit on your head. "It's the effort that counts" you shrug, and he leans in to kiss you on the lips.
