The battle has been going on for an hour now. You've mostly been in and out of the castle, fighting different people. Some only a little older than you, some scraggly and maniac looking. As far as you know, everyone you love is still alive.

Draco's been by your side for the most part, besides the occasional splitting up and running down different corridors.

You run to the great hall to catch your breath, but your heart drops when you see all the motionless people lying with crying people
around them. Most of them are unrecognizable, but you almost pass out when
you see Lupin and Tonks laying next to each
other, still touching hands. All your memories with them flood back, as well as your tears. This is too far. You didn't actually expect those you love to die, and the war isn't even close to
over yet. Your back slid down the wall, and
you're crying with your head buried in your knees.

"Y/n, are you okay? Are you hurt?" You hear Luna's soft voice ask.

You look up to her. Her sleeve is ripped
and there's ash on her face. "I'm fine, but they're not," you cry, motioning to Lupin and Tonks across the room.

"They're gone." Luna holds her hands out, and she helps you stand up, immediately giving you a hug. "They're okay y/n. They put up a good fight and now they're in the afterlife together. Their spirits are here watching over us. Keeping us safe."

You smile through the tears. It seems hard to believe, but the thought makes you feel better. "Thanks Luna. Lets get back out there."

After some more running through the corridors and dodging spells, you cross paths with Draco. You find comfort when he throws his arms around you and says "I'm so glad you're okay."

While you're in the middle of telling him about Lupin and Tonks, a voice interrupts you. It's a cold whisper that sends chills down your spine. "Harry Potter, you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forest, and confront your fate. If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, woman and child who tries to conceal you from me."

You look at Draco with a blank expression. "This can't be happening."

"C'mon," Draco says, putting an arm around your shoulder and walking you deeper into the castle.

You turn the corner and see Lavender Brown sitting against a wall with her head slumped against her shoulder and her eyes closed. "Lavender? Lavender!" You run to kneel in front of her, putting your hand on her cheek. "Lavender!?" You sob.

Draco puts a hand on your shoulder. "She's gone y/n, we have to go."

"No. She didn't deserve this." Your heart breaks into a million pieces.

"We have to leave her y/n."

"We can't just leave her! What if it was me. What would you do?" You can barely see through the tears in your eyes.

"It wouldn't be you, because I would die for you" Draco basically has to pull you away.

You're shaking, but you accept that someone will come and find her. You worry about her friends. Her family. They don't know she's dead already.

Draco leads you into the room of requirement. "You see that vase" he says as you walk to a table.

"Yeah?"

"You're gonna grab it on the count of three, okay? 1"

"Wait what?"
