"Students! May I have your attention!" McGonagall stands up at dinner. You know exaxtly what she's about to say, and it's been eating at you the whole day.

Instead, Harry stands on the table. "Voldemort has returned, and he's coming to Hogwarts tonight. He thinks he'll be able to kill me this time." Frantic chatter takes over the room.

"But, we will stay and defend Harry and our
school!" McGonagall chimes in. "This morning we sent owls for backup and they will be coming shortly."

You don't feel as scared any more. It's a "we're in this together" feeling, and it's very comforting. You feel almost powerful.

Almost on queue, the doors of the Great Hall swing open. In marches the "backup"
McGonnagal was talking about. First walks Kingsley Shacklebolt, followed by Arthur, your favorite professor Remus Lupin and his wife, Tonks.

"Didn't they like just have a baby? And they still came to fight," Hermione whispers.

Anyways, also there's Molly and the rest of her kids, including Fleur. All 9 Weasleys are in the room right now. Not the most conventional family reunion.

As some of the adults go outside to cast protective charms on the school, the rest of you stay inside the great hall. Some people are planning, but most are just sitting around, waiting. You're leaning your head on Draco's
shoulder. Ron, Neville, Dean and Seamus are
practicing defensive spells in the corner. At least they're trying to do something productive.
There are so many people here, but Fred and George catch your eye first.

"Hey, would you mind if I go talk to some people?"

"Of course, darling."

"Hey guys" you say, approaching the twins. They turn, and smiles form on their faces as they each hug you. "It's nice to see you guys again."

They tell you what's going on with the shop and they never fail to cheer you up. Even when you are on the brisk of war.

"Well, I guess we'll see you at the after party" Fred says.

"Once we win and it's all over" George clarifies.

You say goodbye, and move on to talk to Tonks. "How's my favorite future cousin in law doing" you say.

"Y/n! It's been a while!" She greets you with a hug. It takes her a second to register what you just addressed her by.

"Oh yeah, I forgot you two were together."

You nod. "So I heard you just had a baby, is that correct?"

"Yeah, my little Teddy. He's only a month old."

"I can't wait to meet him. You're gonna be such great parents."

"We're excited too!"

You're standing with Hermione and Ron when you hear people making a ruckus outside. You look at your friends and take a deep breath. As soon as you step outside, you see the dome of charm protection has cracks and isn't strong enough to hold itself together. Witches and wizards are rushing around. You also see people running from the other side of the bridge. They're all wearing black, and you can tell that they're the death eaters.

"Well," you exchange looks with Hermione and Ron. "See you on the other side of the war" you say with a worried half smile. Your hand gets sweaty around your wand.

They've finally come, and you have to fight. You want to run away, but your heart wants you to stay. I guess that's why they put you in Gryffindor.

Before you know it, spells are being cast, people are getting hurt. You move through the crowd of people, looking for your soulmate and you finally see him, but he's standing almost frozen. "Draco!" He's looking straight ahead, scared, yet holding his ground. You follow his gaze, and see two blondes from the other side of the war. They look at him with disappointment and anger. You don't even have to ask to know that they're Draco's parents. Your blood boils, remembering all the
terrible stuff Draco has told you about them.

You hold Draco's hand inbetween both of yours and glare at his parents. These are the people
that broke him. You hope this is the only time you ever see them.

Draco looks over to you, with a smile.

You grab his face and kiss him, whispering "lets go," before taking his hand and turning to walk away. You glare back at them one last time, and they have looks of disapproval plastered on their faces.

"I hoped you'd never have to meet them" Draco says.

"I mean now I see where you got your height and blonde hair from," you say.

"Shut up" he says, cracking a smile.
