On a mission, everyone was on different floors in the block of offices they were having to go on a mission to. The places around had been evacuated for the safety of everyone. In Steve's words, "earth is closed today." All connections of phone lines and computer communications that were connected in the office was cut off, and all floors went into lockdown until the avengers arrived. In the meantime, the security guards were running around manic, checking every single floor that they could get to from the stairs. Not all floors had locks on the stair doors, which was good and bad in a way.

"We have a slight problem on floor 7, I'll need backup here ASAP." Steve stated through the comma, and as soon as he stopped speaking, he threw his shield towards one of the bigger enemies. To Steve's shock, it went straight through its body, the two parts sliding to different places on the corridor.
"On the way, Cap." Pietro nodded.
"We have the package." Bucky spoke. "Wanda and I are en route to the Quinjet." He said as they both ran through the wreckage of a building, avoiding anyone and everyone as well as they could.

"Soooo... here's a fun thing." Y/N stated, causing everyone's heart to skip a beat. Everyone knew something had gone wrong when she said that.
"Jesus." Bucky mumbled.
"What did you do?" Cap asked and Wanda gulped nervously.
"Oh no, that's never good." She whispered.
"There is, in fact, a bomb on the bottom level that I may have accidentally triggered."
"Accidentally? You picked it up when I told you not to!" Nat said in distress. As much as she loved her, she hated that she never listened.
"How was I supposed to know it was a bomb?!"

"We told you not to pick it up because we didn't know." Sam sighed.
"That's unimportant."
"I'm on my way to get her before it goes off." Pietro sighed but Steve cut him off.
"No Pietro, don't. Stick to the plan. Get to the Quinjet and I'll-"
"It's going off!" Nat shouted and got down, covering her head. However, nothing happened.
"Nothing happened?" Wanda stated.
"Is everyone alive?" Bucky asked and the line went silent. That was until Y/N spoke up again.
"So another fun fact... My powers just absorbed that explosion.
"Repeat that?"
"Yeahhhh..."
"Shit, Y/N! Tony's gonna freak." Sam stated.
"Everyone back to the Quinjet." Steve sighed.

All comms were turned off for everyone as they met back at the Quinjet, but before setting off Nat walked over to Y/N and grabbed her face, kissing her passionately. She hugged her and kissed the top of her head.
"You're such an idiot." Nat sighed, clearly in distress and then let Y/N pull away. "Let's go."
As the two of them made their way back to the Quinjet, Y/N spoke up and broke the silence.
"Nat. I'm sorry... Are you mad at me?"
"Why would I be mad at you? You just saved all our asses."
"I don't know." She shrugged.

"I mean I think you're stupid at times with what you do... but I can never be mad at you. You just need to be way more sensible on missions." Nat got onto the Quinjet and raised her eyebrows and gave her 'the look' before helping her up, with the help of Bucky.
"When have i ever been sensible on a mission? I'm an impulsive decision making idiot, we've established this have we not?" Y/N laughed as she fell onto the seat feeling weak from all the energy she absorbed. Ironic.

"Bucky?" Y/N asked and he looked at her, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah?"
"Please don't ever help me up with your metal arm. I constantly feel like it's going to just like- unattach. And that will freak me out. Does it not- freak you out?" Y/N questioned as she got an adrenaline rush, but still on the verge of blacking out from how ill she felt.
"We need to get you to the lab when we see Bruce."
"If you need to know, my blood type is... red." Y/N said before passing out on Nats lap.

When they arrived at the compound, Nat takes Y/N straight to the lab and Steve goes to find Tony. Tony sat in the office and stood up as soon as he saw Steve. "What the hell happened out there? I lost any connection as soon as you guys entered that area."
"The bomb went off and-"
"Is anyone hurt?"
"No. But you need to come with me right now."
The two of them walked to the lab and Tony's eyes widened in shock.
"What the hell happened? You said no one got hurt."
"No one did. She's unconscious because her body absorbed the energy from the bomb...  she saved us all because of one stupid mistake."
"So it wasn't a mistake?" Tony said and walked off as Steve went to speak again.

"The hell?" Tony mumbled to himself, walking into the lab, joining Bruce. "She's an energy source."
