As the children scrambled and screamed in the shop at the free candy that Bill had thrown for them to catch, Y/N quickly slipped through a group of children stood by the door. She opened the wooden gate that lead to the back of the counter, and closed it behind her. After patting her clothes down, Y/N walked over to Bill and placed a hand on his shoulder, and kissed his cheek.
"Good afternoon my love." Y/N smiled and Bill turned to her, holding her face either side, and pecked her on the cheek.
"Hello, dear.""How has it been today? Had many people in?" Y/N asked and Bill shook his head.
"Not yet. The word hasn't gotten around yet." He shook his head and handed the paper to Y/N, pulling her into the back. "Suddenly all hell is going to break loose. I'm going to have no stock of Wonka products." He whispered.
"But it's only stupid little rumours that's made it into the paper." Y/N reassured him. "What are the chances that Wonka will open his factory to the public? He must be stupid to, after all the riff raff last time.""I'm sure I don't know what you mean."
"Bill, my love. You were part of that so called riff raff and we don't even sell that ice cream anymore."
"Then I've got no issues with any relevance." He laughed and quickly pecked her forehead before making his way back out front. "I just need to ask you one thing."
"Yes, I'll help you if the rumours do come true." Y/N nodded and made her way up the old wooden stairs to the flat above the shop. Changing out of her work clothes, she changed into some more comfortable clothes before throwing an apron on.A couple hours later, around 6pm, Bill had cleaned and locked up the shop. His tired legs dragged behind him and he hugged Y/N from behind, kissing her neck. "Bill, is now the most appropriate time? I have multiple things cooking on the hobs."
"We'll turn it off and let's wind down for a bit while we wait for the roast."
"You're a bad influence." Y/N laughed softly and followed bill to the bedroom. They closed the door behind them, and Bill backed Y/N up to the bed where she fell backwards. After the two had eaten their meal, they were sat on the couch watching television. Bill was quiet, and Y/N was suspicious.
"Whats on your mind?" Y/N asked and Bill raised an eyebrow before shaking his head.
"Nothing."
"Is it about the shop? Running out of Wonka products?"
"Yes. What will I do? My shop runs on them for the most part and suddenly we'll be out?"
"You get a head start. I mean we'll have enough money to last from selling them. But what you do is write to the suppliers and hand deliver it, get a big range of them that you think will last until you can get another delivery."Bill hardly slept that night, stressed about the complications and issues that their candy store would face when the Wonka controversy began. But that wasn't the only thing. How much trust would Wonka have in the man he trusted to work with, who stole the recipe to his never-melting ice cream? But at the end of the day, it's business for him. It's business for them.
But business isn't always clean and tidy.
