"Please welcome to the stage for the first time, Miss Amilie Lidaford!" Y/N stood up with a spinning head and made her way to the stage, a nervous wreck.
"My life started when I went for walk and spotted you in the park sitting with a dog, so I stopped and asked 'can I pet your dog?'"

"Can I pet your dog?" Y/N asked awkwardly and the curly haired boy nodded with a wide smile. Y/N knelt down slowly, as not to scare the dog. However, he dragged his furry body over to Y/N, sniffed the hand that was open to him and bumped his head into the palm of Y/N's hand. Y/N and the boy quickly released the breath they didn't realise they were holding, and laughed nervously.

"And so there we were. Me, this cute boy and this black curly haired dog basking in the abundance of sun Hogwarts provides. And suddenly, he blurted out..."

"This isn't my dog, actually. It's my brother Sirius. I'm taking care of him while he's an animagus, he's currently transitioning."
"What?" Y/N burst out laughing.

"And I laughed, and he laughed, saying he didn't wanna be found out when he asked me for butterbeer and there was no dog. I said yes and you said;"

"I'm Reg. What's your name?"

"And I heard the perfect opportunity to be someone else entirely. Free from my history... For one single glass of butterbeer, I would be Amilie." Y/N nodded, scanning the audience and let out a soft laugh. "Obviously that's not how it went down. One cup of butterbeer turned into two bottles of wine, three desserts and staying up talking until four in the morning. Too late to backpedal. Too good not to keep going.

It felt like my life, but a better version. With you in my life, I was a better person. I heard music in the words you were saying, melodies with no band playing. For the first time, I was in love... and I loved who I was with you.. All the mundane shit I used to hate like stupid Slytherins and classes every day, making breakfast and casting spells, watering the plants on our window edge was invigorated with your sense of wonder.

Pillow talk and afternoon walks, holding hands in the grass next to the black lake. Dealing with inevitable misfortunes that were barely manageable like that time we accidentally fed a hippogriff someone's pet..." Y/N laughed softly. "That was an unfortunate anecdote. Do you know what I mean?

It felt like my life, but a better version. With you in my life, I was a better person. I heard music in the words you were saying, melodies with no band playing. For the first time I was in love. And I loved who I was with you...

My parents finally tracked me down after years of jumping the schools and homes, they found you and me. Men in suits at our dorm door asking you about 'Y/N Y/L/N' and I knew instantly... They say before you die your whole life flashes before your very eyes." Y/N sniffled, remembering holding and kissing Regulus' hand for the last time before he went to the lake and never returned.

"Well, it didn't the first time but this time I heard each and every lie I'd ever told you. I tried to cling to the life I'd made together with you so I did the only thing I knew how to... I denied who I was because I wanted to keep my life but the better version... Amilie, your wife, was a better person.

I memorized your voice and how you say goodbye, but you never said goodbye. That day you never said goodbye and I held on to our life and who I was with you... Who I was with you... Who I was with you..." Y/N's voice broke at the end and she smiled sadly and walked offstage, subtly wiping her eyes. She headed outside and lit a cigarette, seeing one singular bright star.

Y/N took her shaky hand to her lips, and held it up to the sky. To get one last kiss from her soulmate.
