"Hey Y/N, can I speak to you?" JD questioned as he ran to catch up with Y/N.
"You wanna speak to me? Nice one. You've ignored me for ages, I thought I was as dead to you as Veronica when you stopped talking to me."
"You can't be like that. Look... just give me 5."
"Okay then. Say what you gotta say, Dean."

"Now and then I think of when we were together." JD said as he held onto Y/N's hands very loosely.
"Oh is that so?"
"Like when you said you felt so happy you could die... I told myself that you were right for me but felt so lonely in your company. But that was love and it's an ache I still remember."
"JD, what is that supposed to mean?"
"Hm?" He zoned back in and looked at Y/N with a shrug. "You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness. Like resignation to the end."
"The end of what?"
"When we found that we could not make sense... well, you said that we would still be friends. But I'll admit that I'm goddamn glad it's over"

"Dude stop making me appear assholey. We both know too damn well that you're the issue here in the relationship. Not Sawyer, not me, you!"
"But baby, you didn't have to cut me off. Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing. I don't even need your love but you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough." He furrowed his brows and Y/N sighed, guilt overcoming her once again. "You didn't have to stoop so low. Have your friends collect your records and then change your number. I guess that I don't need that though, I guess you're just somebody that I used to know."

"You know what JD?" Y/N poked her finger onto JD's chest. "Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over but had me believing it was always something that I'd done."
"I never did that. Come on now." He laughed nervously.
"No cuz I didn't want to live that way, reading into every word you say. You said that you could let it go and that I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you 'used to know'!"

"But you didn't have to cut me off. Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing. I don't even need your love but you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough." He grabbed Y/N's shoulders and made eye contact with her once more. "Like you didn't have to stoop so low. Have your friends collect your records and then change your number. I guess that I don't need that though, I guess you're just somebody that I used to know."
"Somebody that you used to know?"
"Somebody that I used to know." JD stroked Y/N's face and she quickly pulled away, walking down the corridor away from him.
