Apologies-Draco Malfoy x Reader (P1)

The train to Hogwarts to start the 6th year, Draco hardly spoke. He either snapped or stared out the window, so Y/N decided to confront him on it. Draco had shooed everyone off the train and sat across from Y/N. "Draco, is everything okay? You've been awfully quiet all the way here."
"We need to talk." Draco stated. That is one sentence Y/N never liked to hear so she adjusted in her seat and sighed as Draco cleared his throat. "We need to break up... I can't do this anymore."
"Draco wait-"
"I'm sorry." He whispered and walked off the train without an explanation.

Y/N quickly grabbed her luggage and chased after him off the train, hoping to catch up to him. "Draco! Draco please wait!" She called after him, but he just kept walking forward. "I love you" she's whispered. She stood on the platform as he walked away and suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around to see Blaise with a sympathetic look on his face.
"I'm sorry he did that. That was a bit of an asshole move." He said and Y/N nodded and walked away in silence, sighing to herself. What did she do wrong?

Y/N sat at the (Y/H/N) table and picked at her food, looking across at Draco who had zoned out, staring at the table resting his chin on his hand. All Draco heard around him were questions and comments like:
"What's wrong with Malfoy?"
"I heard he cheated. She's heartbroken."
"Him and Y/N broke up."
Although Draco was acting as if he couldn't hear them, he could. He heard everything. He pushed himself up and rested his arms on the table before getting up with everyone else.

"How are you doing?" Dean said and Y/N shrugged.
"I just... miss him. Do you know what I mean? Like since 4th year we've been together... I mean damn I went against everything he stands for by joining Dumbledore's Army. He still stayed with me then." She let out a weak laugh and Dean nodded.
"I understand. Everything you told me, you seemed so happy with him."
"Yeah... I guess I'm just going to have to miss him for no reason until he gives me a reason why he broke up with me." Y/N said and Draco looked up from his table in potions and sighed.

Draco walked down the corridor and saw Y/N standing in the courtyard dancing with a few people. He stopped in his tracks and watched her, as his mind wandered back to their first date at the Yule Ball. When they danced together all night, slow and quickly. His tux brushed by Y/N's dress, and both of them sneaking out the great hall to the hills beside the school to cloudgaze. Y/N had mentioned about how she'd do it on a night when she was young and Draco liked the sound of it.

Snapping out of his daze, he walked to the room of requirement looking in deep distress and Y/N noticed so she followed him. Draco went in first and then Y/N followed just before the door disappeared, and while Draco was half way in. "Safety. I did it out of safety."
"Draco are you in here?!" Y/N called out causing Draco to snap around to face where he heard Y/N's voice. When he saw her looking around for him, he turned back to the vanishing cabinet and Y/N looked at him, swallowing before speaking.

"Draco love, speak to me. I can't loose you. Especially not now."
"I don't wanna lose you. But don't you see?" Draco whispered and turned to face her. "They want to hurt you. Or they're going to want to soon. It could be any minute now. I'm doing this because I'm in love with you, I am."
"Look Draco, if I lose you you might as well curse me. Spell me. It would hurt so much less."
"You love me that much?" His voice broke and Y/N nodded as she let out a sob. Draco walked towards her and hugged her tightly, kissing her head.

Suddenly, a slam was heard behind Draco and they pulled away. Bellatrix came up behind Draco and cackled. "Who's this beauty I see here?"
"My... girlfriend." He said and Bellatrix looked her up and down then at Draco.
"She can come with us then. Okay?" She looked back towards Y/N who nodded out of pure fear. Draco grabbed her hand and the two of them walked between the group of death eaters.
"Are you okay?" Draco whispered as he walked through the halls still holding Y/N's hand, and Y/N just nodded slightly.

Suddenly both her and Draco's hand got held, and the two of them had been apperated to Malfoy Manor and everyone was stood separated. Draco helped Y/N to a chair knowing she hadn't apperated anywhere before so she would feel ill. Bellatrix walked over to her, surprisingly asking if she was okay. Lucius looked at Y/N and walked a few steps away with his arm around Draco's shoulders. "Who is she? Why is she here?"
"She's my girlfriend. Bellatrix brought her here."
"Girlfriend? So she's no... threat then?"
"No!" Draco said quite angrily and furrowed his brows, smacking his dads arm off him.

Draco walked back over to Y/N quickly and knelt down in front of her as everyone chatted away from them. "Are you okay?" Draco asked and Y/N sat up a bit more.
"Yeah, that was just a shock. You know, no warning, never done it before, not... prepared."
"Sorry about that. Bellatrix doesn't often forewarn, she will do everything as quick as she can."
"I see that." Y/N let out a slight laugh and then Narcissa walked over to the two, placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder with a supportive smile.
"Come on you two."

As the group all gathered together, Lucius grabbed the back of Draco's neck causing Y/N to look at them, immediately feeling bad for Draco. His father always seemed so... dangerous and abusive. "Don't mess this up, Draco. This is our chance to prove ourself to the dark lord. You will join the other students in a corridor when you apperate. Okay?"
"Yes father." Draco said and the other death eaters apperated, leaving Y/N and Draco. After warning her this time, the two of them apperated into hogwarts. "Let's go princess."

The two of them were stood around a corner and came face to face with Harry, Hermione and Ron. Y/N breathed nervously as she faced the three friends. She began lowering her wand but Draco held it up. "If one of them notice you're not actually with them you're a dead girl. Be aware at all times, I don't want anything to happen to you." Y/N nodded and Draco pointed his wand at Harry. "Scared Potter?"
"You wish."
"Do the honours!" Bellatrix shouted and Y/N began to speak her spell.
"Expelliar-" she got cut off by being stood in front of a fire dragon that Ron had created.
