Somewhere along the line-Tom Hiddleston x Reader

Tom and Y/N were together for over 2 years in secret, and when the relationship came out it went downhill. They had no privacy, they both ended up going their separate ways. There was no contact, but when Tom reached out to Y/N in a time of need after she had quit the marvel series. Y/N had come back in every now and then to film some cameos in the new series' that were coming to release over time. There was a tipsy interview that everyone did last minute, and it was funny and all truths were coming out.

Until it got to Y/N. "Come on, I can tell there's more on your mind than that. Tell us." The interviewer said and Y/N let out a false, soft laugh and shook her head.
"No because if I do that I'm going to get fallen out with."
"Well who's it about at least?"
"Tom." She said and he looked at her.
"I'm not going to fall out with you, come on. Why would I? I don't take anything to heart, you know this."
"No because I don't want anything to go wrong." She let out a nervous laugh.

"No. Go on." Tom said and Y/N paused for a minute before inhaling and exhaling.
"Fine... I think that somewhere along the line you changed. You stopped being you." Y/N stated and Tom looked at her, then he looked down in thought. "Let me tell you something you already know, okay?" Y/N asked and Tom nodded. "The world isn't always sunshine and rainbows. And that's gonna hit as hard as life. But it isn't about how you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep going forward before being knocked down."

-Remembering all the dates, and the bloopers in filming, Y/N's smile dropped. He changed so much and that's why they had to come to an end. The hate he got for moving on years later, just so people could entertain themselves. The insults, the offence, the abuse, invading privacy. It happens, but it shouldn't.

"Yeah..." Tom mumbled under his breath and Y/N continued.
"It's about how much you can take, and keep moving forward. And here you are. You're on this stage right now, next to the whole cast. And after everything you've been through, everything we've been through and helped each other through, here you are. Here we are. I've no idea where all this came from but it's needed to be said for a while. I know it and I'm sure you know it too now that it's been heard. I mean holy shit look at me, I'm in a dress. That's not me!"

"You look beautiful in it though." Tom mumbled and smiled softly as he looked up at her smiling.
"I'd look better in a suit with a crop top." She laughed and Tom shook his head with a smile. "And I do this all the time. You do this all the time, we all do it. Some things have to change, and that's what I think you've tried to avoid even though it's needed..." Y/N finished and Tom quickly stood up, stood Y/N up and pulled her into a clearly tight hug. "Are you okay?" Y/N whispered kissing Tom's cheek, and he nodded.
"Thank you gorgeous."

"I miss you you know." Y/N whispered and Tom kissed her.
"I miss you."
