A/N: The start of this is going to be based on the song 'best of wives, best of women' but some lyrics will be changed to fit the scene. Like 'wives' will be 'mothers' etc.

Y/N tossed and turned in her bed as she struggled to sleep after feeling Daveed leave her side in the bed. Eventually, after getting sick of the struggle, she got up and tied her robe so it was covering her body, across her stomach where the baby bump was, as she only wore underwear and it was cold. She made her way downstairs and saw the light in the kitchen on, and walked over to see Daveed with a coffee, his notebook and a pen in his hand. "Daveed, come back to sleep."
"I might go for a walk out of town."

"It's still dark outside." Y/N stated and took a seat next to Daveed at the table who looked out the window.
"I know, I just need to write something down."
"Why do you write like you're running out of time?" She laughed softly and stroked his shoulder. "Come back to bed, that would be enough."
"I'll be back before you know I'm gone." He stated and looked at Y/N, causing her to sigh and shake her head.
"Come back to sleep."
"Im just stressed this morn."
"Well I'm going back to sleep." She sighed thinking he wouldn't speak to her about his mental health. He never did.

When Y/N stood up, Daveed grabbed her hand and kissed it. "Hey... best of mother's and best of women" Daveed smiled and escorted her hand back so she could sit at the table. He placed both of his hands on Y/N's baby bump and kissed it before she sat down. "I feel like I haven't been open enough about everything with you."
"I feel the same, but after every time I tried to ask you, you'd just brush it off. I wasn't going to ask you when you're distressed like this, I knew you wouldn't talk."

"I appreciate you a lot, you know that right? I mean goddamn you're an angel. You spend 39 hours a week looking after elderly people in care homes, and I'm so happy when you come home. You work for the money that goes to this house but we don't need it. You do it because you want to do it. And when you come home, I feel safe again, you know." Daveed let loose on his feelings and Y/N furrowed her brows.
"You don't feel safe when I'm not here?"
"Not safe as in, we're 'going to get robbed' safe. I mean mentally."

"I thought it'd be something like that. You know you can talk to me whenever, my love. Just when you feel comfortable." Y/N states and holds his large hand in her two hands.
"I know. It's just you're so stressed and I don't want you to have any more with my problems. They're my problems not yours." Daveed sighed tiredly. "I'm just so tired, mentally and physically but I think we can talk more about it tomorrow. Let's get to bed." Daveed says with a tired smile and stands up.

As he goes to walk away, Y/N grabs his wrist lightly causing him to turn around. "Hey, best of fathers and best of men." Y/N laughed softly and pulled him into a tight hug. Daveed's hands were placed on her stomach, and he slid them behind her waist to pull her in as tight as he could with her stomach in the way.
"I love you, talk when you're ready my love." Y/N whispered and Daveed rested his forehead against hers.
"I love you too... You're all I need, just promise you'll listen?"
"I promise." She placed a light kiss on his lips and they made their way up the stairs.

Daveed tapped her bum lightly. "Hurry up slowcoach." He joked.
"I'm carrying a child shh." Y/N laughed causing Daveed to smile. The two of them made their way into the bedroom, closed the door and got comfortable into bed.

She was finally going to feel like she could help him. And that's all she wanted to do.
