Axel's POV

I was pacing along the hallway as we waited for the doctor to come outside from the ward. We had been here in the waiting room for over an hour and the doctor still hadn't come out yet.

"Relax man." Aiden said and I turned to him.

"What do you mean relax? Aria's in there and we don't know how she is doing. I just can't...." I trailed off as I did not know what to say.

"I know you are worried about her but....." He was cut off when the doctor came out of the ward and I did not like the look on his face.

"What is it doctor? How is Aria doing?" I asked impatiently.

"I am sorry sir but there is nothing more we can do."

"What do you mean?" I asked as I felt my heartbeat rate increase.

"We have given her the required medication and treated her injuries but that's all we can do." He said and but I was still not understanding what he was saying.

"Can you be more clear doctor, what do you mean by saying there is nothing more you can do?" Aiden asked.

"You are aware that Aria is in the last stage of leukemia right, and she doesn't have much time left." The doctor said and I could not believe what my ears heard.

That explains everything, she has all the symptoms of a person suffering from leukemia, recurrent nosebleeds, her skin was looking very pale, she was getting thinner by the day, and her hair was all gone, she was wearing wigs, I remember when I first went to find Aria after I got from Australia from my eye surgery, Aiden said that he remembered Aria's hair being black not brown, that means that she was wearing a wig all along.

"Axel!" Aiden called as he shook me by my shoulders pulling me out of my thoughts.

I looked around but I could not find the doctor.

"Where is the doctor?" I asked.

"He has gone."

I walked towards Aria's ward and opened the door. I walked in and looked at Aria's fragile figure lying on the bed. She still had her eyes closed so I walked towards the bed and stood next to it. My heart clenched in my chest when I remembered all I had put her through when she herself was already suffering.

My phone rang in my pocket and I took it out. It was Connor calling me and I walked out of the ward to answer it leaving Aiden in the room with Aria.

"Hello." I said.

"Hello sir, where are you?" He asked from the other end.

"Why are you asking? Is there a problem?"

"There is someone here called Cassie and she is saying that she is Aria's friend. She is saying Aria is missing and can't reach her through her phone. I am asking if you know where she is since you were the last person who was with her." He explained and I let out a sigh.

The name Cassie rang a bell and I remembered Aria mentioning it to me in office on the day that she came to work drank.

"Sir? Are you still there?" Connor asked and I broke out of my trance.

"Yes, I am. Did you say that someone named Cassie is there asking for Aria?"

"Yes sir."

"Tell her to come to St.Peters hospital, Aria was admitted here." I said and hang up the call.

"Who was that?" Aiden said as he walked out of the ward.

"It's Connor."

"What was he saying?"
