Aria's POV

"You add these three eggs," I said as I cracked three eggs into the mixing bowl, "and then you stir." I said as I started to stir the mixture.

Cassie was observing every movement of mine very keenly.

It had been two weeks ever I was discharged from the hospital and I was responding well. I could get myself around the house but occasionally used crutches.

Ever since I had started to live with Cassie, I noticed that she ordered every our meals, from breakfast to dinner, and when I asked, she told me that she didn't know how to cook, so I took it upon myself to always make our meals though she used to tell me that it wasn't necessary, but I insisted. I really love cooking, spending my entire life indoors, I didn't have much going on, so I used to hang around in the kitchen and observe our chef as he cooked and even told him to teach me.

After making our breakfast this morning, I decided to bake some cupcakes and Cassie told me that she would love to learn how to bake so here I am teaching her.

"How long do you have to stir it?" Cassie asked.

"You have to stir it till you're sure everything is all mixed up." I said as I turned off the mixer.

"Can you hand me over the cupcake trays?" I said to Cassie and she went to get them from the cupboard.

"Thank you." I said as she gave me two trays.

Just then Cassie's phone rang and she went to get it from the kitchen island. I noticed her frown when she saw who was calling, and she went into the living room to talk to the person.

I put some small amount of the mixture into each space of the cupcake trays and place the trays into the oven, setting the timer.

"No mom I can't come home!" I heard Cassie yell from the living room.

"I am in the middle of my semester so I can't come!" She yelled again and I tried to busy myself with cleaning the mess I made from baking.

I heard Cassie come into the kitchen and I turned around to look at her. I could see unshed tears in her eyes as she tried to avoid to avoid meeting my gaze.

"Is everything okay?" I asked as I went to put my hand over her shoulder.

"Ummm.....yeah." She said as tried to put on a smile.

"Are you sure?" I asked again."I heard you arguing with your mom over the phone." I said and she started crying.

"Hey, don't cry." I said as I hugged her and started rubbing her back.

"It's..... it's just..... it's just that...." She tried to say between sobs.

"Calm down first." I said to her as she pulled back from the hug.

"Let's have a seat." I said as I led her to the dining table in the kitchen.

I waited for her calm down before asking her any questions.

"So what does your mom want?" I asked as she wiped off her tears.

"She wants me to go home."

"Where does she live?" I asked.

"In Los Angeles, but I don't want to go back there." She said looking at the floor as she fidgeted with her fingers.

"Why? Don't you miss her?"

"I do, but I don't want to see my mother bringing guys in the house everyday and hooking up with them. It's just very disturbing."

"And where is your father?" I continue to ask further.
