Aiden's POV
I knocked on Aria's apartment door and waited patiently for the door to happen. I could hear some sounds coming from inside the house and I heard footsteps approaching the door and I watched as the lock turned revealing Aria as the door opened.
As soon as she saw me she tried shutting the door on my face but I was quick on putting my leg on the doorstep not allowing her to shut the door.
"Please Aiden I don't want to talk to you about Axel so please just leave me alone." She said as she looked at me with pleading eyes but I just shook my head.
"I know that you are upset but I am not going without having a with you Aria."
"I said I don't want to talk to now please go!"
"You know very well that I am not going to go anywhere, right?" I said in an obvious tone and she looked at me for a while before stepping away from the door, giving me room to come in.
"You are still suffering from stubborntisis?" Aria asked as she closed the door.
"Well you didn't recommend me to any doctor so how was I supposed to be cured?" I said remembering how she used to tell me that I am stubborn, back when I used to be Axel's helper.
I went and sat at one of the sofas and I watched her as she came to sit in the coach in front of me. I carefully studied her features and I could tell that she was not doing very well. Her face had become even more pale and she had grown very thin, her eyebugs had become even darker and she flinched with every movement she made, this illness was really wasting her.
I heard her clear her throat and I broke out of my daze.
"Don't worry very soon you are not going to be seeing this ugly creature in front of you ever." She said and I realized what she was talking about.
"You don't have to be so pessimistic Aria."
"It's not being pessimistic it's being realistic..... I mean look at me Aiden, I am a walking dead and I fucking wish that I would just go already and be done with!" She said in a raised voice and tears started flowing down her cheeks.
"What about those who love you? How do you think they will feel when you go?" I asked.
"They will be relieved because a burden would have been lifted off their shoulders." She said as she wiped off her tears.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
"Because it's obvious. Everyone who is here for me right now is running up and down for my sake, wearing themselves out trying to get me treated when they know very well that I am not going to be be well. All they are doing is zero work and I can't help feel like a bother to them." She said and I knew that she was referring to Cassie.
"But they have given up on you, have they?" I asked and she stayed quiet for a while.
"But what's the use if I don't see any purpose to leave."
"Are you saying that because Axel was your only purpose to leave?" I asked.
"You know very well that the reason I started this whole medical journey was because of Axel, I had never seen any meaning to my life until I met Axel, he changed me, he changed how I saw the meaning of life, he made me feel like as if I belonged and he made me feel happy, but all that changed when......."
"You really can't blame Axel for any of this. His anger clouded his judgement and......if you were in his shoes you would have done the same Aria."
"I understand where you are coming from and I don't blame Axel at all because I used his disability against him and he had every intention to be upset with me."
