Cassie's POV

I was busy packing up my stuff in my room when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." I said and my mother walked in.

I rolled my eyes when I saw her and I continued packing.

"You know if you continue to roll your eyes that much they might get stuck at the back of your head." She said as she sat on my bed.

"Are you trying to be funny because it's really not working." I said sassily.

"Drop that attitude young lady."

I scoffed and went to my closet to get more clothes.

"So you are leaving me again?" She asked as I came back to the room.

"I have to go mom, I have exams my final on Monday and I can't miss it."

"Will you be back?" She asked and I looked at her.

"You know very well that after I graduate I will be going back to Kenya and stay with dad."

"How long are you going to stay there?"

"I don't know, maybe a few months just until I get a job, but you are free to come if you'd like, dad won't have a problem with it."

"I am fine staying here."

"Suit yourself."

"Hey, aren't you going to be working at your father's company?" She asked and I looked at her puzzled.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked and I slowly shook my head.

"You mean to say that you don't know what course I am specialising in?" I asked.

"Of course I do, it's something to do with business right?" I looked at her with shock.

"Are you for real mom?"

"What!" She asked innocently.

"It's been four years already since I joined campus and you mean to say that you don't know what I am studying?"

"I thought it was business or something, I never paid much attention okay." She said defensively.

"You never pay any attention. It engineering okay? I am studying engineering, aeronautical engineering to be specific."

"Oh my God really, I am so proud of you honey." She said as she stood up and came to hug me but I quickly moved back.

"What is wrong baby?" She asked innocently and I just shook my head and left the room.

*******
I was sitting on the swing seats at the garden talking to Xander on my phone. He had called to check on me and as always I was ranting out my complains to him.

"I mean it has been four years already, how could she not know what course I am majoring in?"

"Maybe she was just busy or something."

"Yeah, busy with sleeping around with young men."

"Don't be so hard on her, she is just from the hospital."

"I know that but it's so frustrated that I try so much to be here for her when she doesn't do the same with me."

"Just try and talk to her Cassie, maybe there is more to everything than what it seems, you are the one who always says that, right?"

"You are right, never be quick to judge without knowing somebody's actions without knowing their intentions."

"That's my girl." He said and I smiled even though he couldn't see me.
