In the Oh family's mansion on a lovely Spring day in 1794, about 300 years after the monarchies dissolved. Although both the human and vampire bloodlines no longer had regal status, they still remained very wealthy, powerful families.

"Here he is, a healthy baby boy," the midwife said, handing the little tyke to his mother.

Tears of happiness were streaming down the mother's cheeks. "Finally, after trying for so long, we finally have you again, our dear Leoh."

"Yes, I'm so happy to finally have our son back," the father swooned. "This means that we can finally get our revenge~"

"Really? Is that all you're happy for? You two don't actually love your son—?"

"SILENCE YOU PATHETIC WENCH!!" The mother bellowed. "GO CLEAN THE HALLS OR SOMETHING, YOU ARE NO LONGER NEEDED!!"

With that, the midwife scurried out the couple's room, leaving them with their son— who began crying from his mother's sudden outburst.

"Ugh, I hate children! Such irksome, incessant wailing," the father groaned. "But I suppose she poses a fair point my love. We should choose a different name for Leoh, should we not? The others most likely got reborn as well, and it's common for reincarnated souls to cross paths at some point. We wouldn't want them to easily remember what happened before and risk them hindering our plans again."

"Hm, yes, you're right," the mother replied. "Very well then Sehun, we have big plans for you, little one. You will be a good boy for us, right?"

"Mother, father, can I please go out to the town and play with the other children? They look like they are having fun," Little Sehun asked, looking out his window to the wintry scene below. He saw children laughing and hurling snowballs at each other, people adorning their houses with decorations for the incoming festivities, and families walking with gifts.

"Sehun dear, there are so many books for you to read and plenty of other things to do in this house! Plus, you should concentrate on your studies. Trigonometry is 'fun', is it not?"

Sehun looked down at his paper filled with triangles and scribbles of different equations, and trig functions, and angles and— ugh! It all just bored him out of his young mind.

"It's just so lonely being stuck in here all the time. I want to know what it feels like to be a normal
chil—"

"'Normal child'?!" his mother echoed angrily. "You're saying you want to be like those lowly peasants out there? How preposterous! You are a descendant of the most powerful vampire bloodline and you wish to diminish yourself to a commoner?! Those are the exact people who should be worshiping us at our feet, just like before, and you want to ruin that?!"

"B-but mother, I don't like how we treated everyone before... we were so cruel and I just want to be nice!" Now, unlike humans and half-vampires, full-blooded vampires are born remembering their past life. Innocent little Sehun was so hurt and disgusted by everything that he and his family did that he took every opportunity to be kind to others, from helping the cooks prepare their dishes to treating his servants as equals— all of this, much to the dismay of his parents, of course. They would certainly change this "abhorrent" behavior soon though.

"'Nice' pffft, he wants to be 'nice'," his father scoffs. He pulled the boy out of his chair by his collar and got close to his face. "Let me tell you something son, you will get NOWHERE in life being 'nice' to everyone. You need to demand respect from these peons, and show them that Doradovania's royal vampire bloodline is a force to be reckoned with!"
