{3rd Person POV}

The first half of the following Monday had gone by in a blur for Y/N. She was still thinking about the time she spent with Sehun that Saturday. All that occupied her brain during the first classes she had that day was their time spent together in the bubble tea shop. The memory was just so... pleasant. Y/N felt the happiest she had been in months on that day, so happy that she was she sure that it was a dream; but meeting up with Sehun for lunch as usual was confirmation that it was all real. Just like in the shop, she was completely entranced by him— his melodious laughter, his piercing red eyes staring passionately into her E/C ones, and how gentle his usually icy face looked whenever he smiled. Indeed, Sehun was successfully using his charm to swoon her over.

Without realizing it, she was falling for him, and little did she know that he had already fallen for her too... and he would make sure that she was his.

The end of the day had finally came and it was time for astronomy class. Sehun, with his arm draped around Y/N's shoulders, walked her to class like usual. Before he left, he gave her a hug. Oh, how she adored his hugs; something about them just felt so... familiar.

When she turned to enter the classroom, she locked eyes with none other than Jongin... who'd actually been staring at her and Sehun the whole time. They both quickly looked away from each other and Y/N made her way to her seat next to him. She didn't look or speak to him for the entirety of the class period, remembering what Jongin said at the bookstore and wanting to respect his space... if only she knew that he said this because he loves her.

{Y/N POV}

RING! RING! RING!

Whew, class is over!

The atmosphere between me and Jongin had felt so tense and awkward this class period that I just couldn't wait to get out of that school. I start randomly throwing everything into my bag and when I think I have everything, I see that I forgot something. Hmm let's see, I have my notebooks, phone, binders, folders... oh, I'm missing my pencil case. Oh no— I PUT MY LUCKY NECKLACE IN THERE!! Nononono where did it go?? I remember putting my necklace in there to stop it from distracting me since I kept fiddling with it because I was tense, so it has to be somewhere in this room right? I frantically look around my area when I finally spot my pencil case shoved far into the back of my desk. Hehe, oops. After throwing it into my bag I hop up from my seat to make my "escape", but that's when I notice that some of the other kids had left the classroom really messy. Who the hell raised them?!

I hear Mr. Kim sigh and say, "looks like a have to clean their mess again."

'Again'? How did I not notice them doing this before? As much as I want to leave, I know can't leave Mr. Kim to clean this all by himself.

"Excuse me Mr. Kim? I can help clean up if you want."

He looks up at me and smiles. "Why thank you Ms. Ricci. Yes, it would be a pleasure for you to help."

"No problem," I reply and make my way to the other side of the classroom to get the broom.

"Jongin, help Y/N clean the room please."

WHAT?!

I turn and see that Jongin had been sitting at his desk the whole time. How did I not notice him?

"Ok, I'll help," he responded. I can't get over how his voice was so deep, yet so gentle.

I quickly look away from him and concentrate on sweeping. Why are you getting so worked up over this Y/N? You're the one who's making this awkward. Just accept that he doesn't like you and move on, I think to myself, and I'm right; I should just move on. But I guess what's bothering me is the fact that I drove a potential friend away by coming on too strong.

When I turn to sweep another spot I get startled by Jongin standing there holding a trash can and yelp out of surprise.

"S-sorry. It's for you to dump the trash in," he says, and places the trash can on the floor near me.

"Oh... thanks," I say.

He simply nods and begins to walk away.

...Without thinking, I call him, "hey, wait. I wanna talk to you about something."

Y/N what are you doing??

Jongin raises an eyebrow and makes his way back over to me. "Hm?"

Why can't you just drop it??

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for pestering you, if that's the reason why you don't want to be friends with me. I shouldn't have come on too strong and just given you space, so I apologize for not."

For a short moment he just stares at me with a confused look on his face, then he... chuckles?

Good job Y/N, you've successfully managed to make a fool out of yourself once again. Now he's laughing at you!

I look down in embarrassment and continue sweeping, hands shaking while gripping the broom. But then he comes close and tilts my chin up to look at him and looks right into my eyes.

"Hey, it's fine. Really. There's no need to apologize because I was telling the truth on Saturday. I really do just prefer to keep to myself. I promise that it has nothing to do with you, okay?"

I'm still stunned from Jongin's gesture, but I manage to choke out a small, "okay."

Before focusing his attention back on his task, he says, "don't worry, I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends. It may take time, but you seem like a nice girl, so it'll happen eventually."

Again, all I could manage to do was smile and say, "okay."

After about half an hour, we finally cleaned up all the junk and the classroom looked neat and tidy again.

"Wonderful job you two!" Mr. Kim says. "As an expression of my gratitude, I will give you extra credit points!"

"Woah, thanks Mr. Kim!" I exclaim.

"You're very welcome Ms. Ricci. And I have an offer for you two: that I'll reward extra credit each week if you stay after class to help me tidy up. Not everyday of course, only when needed."

Me and Jongin's faces brighten up, and I say, "I'd love to!"

"Great!" Mr. Kim happily clasps his hands together. "Looks like we've made a deal! Thank you."

And with that, I leave the classroom, beaming. Today turned out to be a good day.
