The night of the musical finally comes around and Y/N is in her room merrily getting ready for this special occasion. She wanted to look her best for this important night, so she puts on a lovely silk maroon mini dress with wedge heels, hair clips in her H/C curls, and of course, for the finishing touch, her lucky necklace.
"Lookin' good~" she coos, spinning around in her mirror. "Now all I have to do is wait for—"
DING DONG!!
"He's here!" Y/N runs down the stairs and opens the front door, revealing Jongin standing there, his warm smile shining even brighter because of the porch light.
"You look so beautiful... are you ready?" he asked.
"Yep! Let's go!" she answered.
And the two of them set off into the night, hand in hand. They only walk a short distance from her house before Y/N starts shivering from the cool early autumn air sweeping over her bare skin.
I should've thought about this outfit more carefully, she thinks to herself. She then feels something warm and soft being placed on her shoulders. She looks up and sees that it's Jongin draping his jacket around her.
"Oh, you don't have to—"
"It's cool, I don't mind! Heh, you obviously need it more than me."
"I— thank you." Y/N wraps the sweater around her tighter, and she's able to smell his scent. Strong, yet sweet, just like him. She grins and nuzzles her face deeper into the smooth fabric.
The pair continue walking and they finally reach the entrance of the school. They walk in, pay for their tickets, and walk into the theatre.
"Jongin! Y/N! We're over here!" Baekhyun calls from the front of auditorium, waving his arms wildly. Embarrassed, they briskly walk to where Baekhyun— and upon getting a closer look, Lucas too— is sitting. They take their seats, Y/N on the end and next to Jongin and Jongin next to Baekhyun.
"So you said you're gonna tell her tonight?" Baekhyun whispers.
"Yeah," Jongin answers, "when intermission comes."
"Aww that's perfect! I'm so proud of you bro," he says, giving his dear friend a high-five. Then he speaks more loudly, "hey, what even is this play about anyway?"
Y/N flips through the program in her hand. "Hmm, 'Swing Kids'. It looks it's about the Korean War."
Baekhyun lets out a loud groan. "Uggggh normie world history? Booooring."
"Oh come on Baek, the history from me and Y/N's world is pretty interesting," Lucas says.
"It's all the same dude! People fighting with each other over the dumbest little things. You normies are so petty!"
His comment causes Y/N to look at him incredulously. "Yeah right Baekhyun, that problem only exists in the human world," she quips, immediately slapping her hand over her mouth.
He raises an eyebrow. "Wait. Y/N. What do you
mea—""Shhhhh!! It's starting!" Jongin says, noticing the lights dim.
And the show begins. Scene after scene goes by and Y/N and the boys are blown away by the performance, especially Rosie and Kyungsoo with their beautiful singing and flawless dancing. Y/N has the biggest smile on her face, for she is learning about an important moment in one of her heritage's history. Because she had to leave the human world at such a young age, she knew only somewhat about the history and culture of each of her ethnicities.
Y/N loves learning more about them bit by bit, especially through fun things like this.
