[𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻]: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝗬𝗲𝗼𝗹? 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗜'𝗺 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿!

[𝗠𝗲]: 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗿

[𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻]: 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲? 😬

In the middle of typing, I slam right into someone's back.

"Ow, sorry—" but then the person turns around and I see that it's Lucas— and Y/N's with him too! "Oh, hey y'all!"

"H-hi Chanyeol," Lucas says. I notice that he's protectively holding Y/N close to him and his eyes are darting around nervously.

"I know about what happened yesterday." Might as well try to get this mess cleaned up.

"What's going on Yeolie?" Y/N asks. "Why are they separating us and why did he almost bite us?"

"It's because of the Scarlet Eclipse. Ever heard of it?"

Both of them shook their heads. "Well, actually, I learned about eclipses in Astro, but nothing about what you just said," Y/N says.

"Yeah, and every time we've tried asking someone what's going on, they don't tell us because 'they don't want to cause alarm amongst the students'," Lucas replies, rolling his eyes.

"Well basically, you know that a lunar eclipse is when the moon enters Earth's shadow, right?" I begin. "Well, in Doradovania, it's very rare for that to happen, unlike in the human world— here, it only happens about every century. The moon has very powerful influence over vampires and other living things, so you would imagine that something like this would greatly effect us— uh, them. When this eclipse happens, their need and craving for blood grows stronger. If you get bit by one on this day, not only will you turn into a vampire, but you also be under your biter's control for eternity. You become a puppet."

"But Jonginnie is only half vampire... shouldn't this not affect him?"

"I was just about to speak about that. You see, with people that are half vampire, their human side dominates most of the time. You'd think this would make them immune to the eclipse, but no. Since their human side is dominant, they don't have much experience trying to fight their vampire instincts, and because of this, their vampire side takes over more easily when the eclipse comes, or if they get close to blood. Plus, the fact that Jongin is a relatively young vamp adds on to making it difficult for him to resist."

"So he can't help it... ugh, I feel terrible," Y/N groans, smacking her head into her hands.

"Heyyyy, c'mon now lil mama, I'm sure everything will work out between you two," Lucas assures her, patting her back.

"Yeah, I'm sure if y'all just talk it out, it'll be okay!" I say.

She instantly perks up. "You two are right, thank you so much! I'll text him today and tell him to meet me so we can talk!" And with that, she scampers into the school typing away on her phone, with Lucas following behind. I can't help but to smile as I watch them go away.

"What the hell was that?!"

Oh no. I turn around and yep, there he is; Sehun standing there pissed off.

"H-hey Sehun! Uh, aren't you supposed to be suspended?"

"In-school suspension, but that isn't important right now and you know it. You're supposed to be luring Y/N and the Pearl away from him and to me... not be all buddy-buddy with them!!"

"B-but that's what I'm doing! Don't you remember? Our plan was for me to pretend to be friends with them and—"

"Oh no, I can tell that you aren't pretending anymore. Let me tell you what happened, you've become soft and you're betraying me. It was such a simple task Yeol, you do this favor in return for me protecting your other freaks from my family. I'm sure you know what they would do if they found out you all were still alive."

Dammit, I can't take this anymore!! All this time, I've just wanted to redeem myself in this new life, but I also need to protect my brothers.

All I can manage to say is, "can't you just give it up? You should know by now that that Pearl has caused enough trouble..."

Anger flashes through him for a brief moment. His fists clench, his lips twist into scowl, and his eyes narrow. But then he sighs, and mumbles, "I thought you knew that this wasn't just about the Pearl..."

IS HE KIDDING ME?! "WELL WHAT IS IT ABOUT THEN?!" My shouting causes many other heads in the courtyard to turn and stare.

Sehun doesn't answer, just angrily huffs his breath and begins to walk away. But then, he turns back around.

"3 weeks, Yeol. That's when the eclipse is. Get her to me by then, or else you'll regret it." Then, he walks into the school.

Her. This is why I'm being put through hell. All because of that damn girl. Once again, I'm suffering and getting tied up into some mess all because of that little bi—

"Woah now, you know that's no way to speak of a lady."

I turn to see two of my brothers, Tao and Luhan, approaching.

"What are you two doing here? You don't want to get caught, do you??" I say in a frantic, hushed voice. "And Lu, I told you to stop using your creepy telekinesis shit on me!"

"You dare doubt us, Chanyeol? You know that I've traveled through enough decades to pick up on trends and blend in~" Tao says. "But that's besides the point; it appears as though you've developed some very sour feelings towards Y/N."

I fiddle with my backpack straps. "It just seems like I'm always being used because of her. Back then, and now, once again."

"Hm, seems like life would be easier without her~" Luhan says.

My eyes widen. "Lu... you aren't actually saying that I should..." but then I stop, and really think about it. Back then, Kai and Leoh used me in pursuit of her, and now, Sehun is repeating his past actions, and our lives were always at stake. If she didn't... exist, then maybe...

"Tao? Your thoughts?"

He closes his eyes and tips his head down, and starts mumbling. "...party...Friday...sandwich shop..." he finally opens his eyes back up. "It won't be bad. Convince Jongin to go to the party next Friday. He's going to stop by a sandwich shop near here to pick up food and Y/N will be so desperate to make up with him that she'll follow him there. Lure her behind the alley, and do the deed~"

"Got it," I say, but then I suddenly realize something— how will Jongin and Sehun react? What will they do to me?

"Chanyeol, didn't we tell you that we have this all under control? We'll take care of them~ But until then, you NEED to make sure Jongin and Y/N stay apart from each other," Luhan says, smirking.

"Okay," I say, relenting, but I still feel like something's amiss, that they're hiding something... Being a master of time, Tao always has tricks up his sleeve...
