"Y/N!! WAKE UP, WAKE UP!!"
Uggh why eomma? It's so early in the morning, I think to myself.
Then I look at my phone and see the date... MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
I quickly hop out of bed, shower, get dressed, and make my way down to the kitchen with my bag in my hand.
"Good morning eomma!" I greet, sitting down at the table.
(1)"좋은 아침, Y/N!" She cheerily responds. She puts a plate of my favorite breakfast, blueberry pancakes, down in front of me and sits down across from me at the table. As I was eating, I notice that she keeps looking at me weird.
"Is something wrong eomma?"
"Oh... it's nothing Y/N, it's just..."
That's when I notice her hazel eyes scanning my outfit..... here we go.
"You're wearing that to your first day at a new school? Wouldn't you want to wear something more umm... presentable?"
Since it is a bit colder in our new town, I was wearing a hoodie, skater jeans, a pair of sneakers, and my lucky necklace — an ensemble that would be considered a sin to a fashion-savvy person like my mom.
"They're vampires eomma," I say, "as old as they are, I'm sure they've seen stranger things than a girl wearing a hoodie and jeans."
She chuckles, "Hehe I guess you're right."
I finish up my pancakes and we walk out the door to my mom's shiny white convertible. We buckle ourselves into the warm seats and sit in silence the entire ride there. I could tell she was just as nervous as I was.

"Here we are!" eomma exclaims.
I look out the window to my new school and nearly die. The school is a huge, dark, creepy looking castle with chipped statues and weeds growing up the walls that made it look like it has been here for hundreds, hell, maybe even thousands of years — the exact OPPOSITE of Wonderland, which was also a castle, but everything didn't look so dead.
(2) "Hmm? Y/N, 왜 그래?"
"I'm scared eomma..." I say, twiddling the special necklace that papà had given me when I was little.
She reaches over in her seat and gives me a tight hug. "I know honey, I know... but you know you can't run from everything in life right?"
"I mean technically I could. I'm pretty fast—"
"But you shouldn't. It's okay to be scared, but you can't give up on something that hasn't even happened yet."
"I know... I know." I sigh.
"Great! So that means you're gonna go now, riiight?"
"Ughh... fiiiiine."
"Hehe that's my girl!" She says, ruffling my H/C curls. "I'm coming home late tonight, so make sure to text me and tell me how it went, and good luck!"
(3)"Grazie, eomma!"
I walk on the cracked concrete path leading to the school doors, passing by dead trees and wilted bushes and becoming pretty creeped out by my gloomy surroundings. As I'm walking, I get drawn to the statue in the middle of the courtyard. When I get close, I get a better look at it. It's of a prince, with a plaque that reads 'Our Beloved Prince Leoh; 952 - 1069'.
