"H-huh?! What—"

My eyes fly open and I look around wildly at my surroundings. I feel my soft bed beneath me and spot the familiar objects in my room; dresser, nightstand, a few pairs of shoes strewn about.

I sigh in relief. Thank God, it was all just a little nightmare.

But then I glance at my clock and my relief is replaced by panic once again.

"7:25! SCHOOL JUST STARTED! OH NO I'M GONNA BE LATE!"

I crazily zoom through the house and quickly do everything to get ready, stuffing everything into my bag, throwing on some clothes, freshening up a bit in the bathroom, and grabbing a banana from the kitchen. I can just do my makeup at school, and as for hair... eh, looks like I'll be rocking bed head frizz today.

I sprint out the door and down the block, short bursts of adrenaline pushing me faster and faster. How could I have possibly overslept? Was my nightmare really that bad? It was such a strange dream, it felt like someone was showing me a distant memory, it somehow felt familiar. Maybe it has something to do with that book? Whatever, hopefully Mr. Kwon will understand, he's a pretty chill teacher...

HONK! HONK!

My thoughts are interrupted by loud honking and the tires of a slick black car with tinted windows screeching to a stop near my spot on the sidewalk. Oh great, I'm gonna get kidnapped too? Sigh, this day just keeps getting better and better.

But then, when the driver hops out to greet me, I'm delighted at who it is.

"Sehunnie!"

"Hello Y/N! Need a ride?" He asks, a beaming smile on his face.

"Yes please! If it's no trouble, of course."

"Not at all! Hop in!" He says, opening the car door. Such a gentleman.

I slide into the warm, comfy seat and close the door. He then steps on the pedal and begins the smooth ride. During the entire ride to school, we sit in silence, him with one hand on the wheel, concentrated on the road and me applying simple makeup. The surprising part is that it wasn't even an awkward silence; I guess just being in each other's presence was enough to keep us both at peace.

When we pull up to the school building we hurry inside, quickly check in at the main office, and rush up to Mr. Kwon's classroom.

"Oh, look who finally decided to show up," Mr. Kwon says mockingly. "It's too bad that you let Sehun rub off on you normie."

A couple of kids snicker and Sehun opens his mouth to probably fire off a sneaky comeback, so I quickly cut him off. "We're sorry Mr. Kwon. We decided to carpool today and ran into heavy traffic."

Mr. Kwon just chuckles and waves his hand. "Aw, I was only messing with you normie. Just try to be more careful next time."

With that, we nod our heads and walk to our seats. Mr. Kwon picks up from where he left off and we follow along in our notebooks. Luckily, he hadn't gotten too far into the lesson.

Lunch time comes and as usual, Sehun waits outside my class so we can walk to the lunchroom together. We're almost there when we pass by the library.

"Hey Sehun, I'll be right back okay? I need to go to the library real quick," I say.

"Alright then, I'll be in our usual spot. Hurry back my little bookworm~" he replies playfully.

With a blush I hurry off into the library and begin carefully scanning each of the shelves. I need to read more of that book. Now, where did I find it before? I take my time looking closely through each of the aisles and am about to give up hope when I glance over at the lounge section. It may be a small chance, but maybe someone mistakenly left it there? Eh, it won't hurt to check.
