{3rd Person POV}

It's a few minutes until astronomy class begins and Y/N is laying her head down on her desk. She's not doing it to avoid Jongin— she could actually care less about what happened the other day— she's thinking about the dream she had that night. It's the second time she's had a strange dream like that. Why did it happen again? Was it just her mind messing with her? She hopes that's all it is. Y/N lifts her head up for some fresh air when she sees Jongin next to her. They make eye contact and she puts her head back down. Okay, maybe she has been thinking about their encounter that night. Whatever, she thinks. I should just stay out of his space; I wouldn't want to annoy him even more and—

"Y/N?" He calls her name and she turns her head up to face him.

He takes a deep breath, then says, "I'm sorry about the other night. I think I overreacted."

Aw no, he shouldn't be the one apologizing! she thinks to herself. She just shrugs and says, "it's fine, I should've been respectful of your space. Let's just forget about it, okay?"

"Forget about what?" He says, with an exaggerated incredulous look on his face. They both laugh and wait for Mr. Kim to come.

"It's relaxing," Jongin says suddenly.

"Hm?" Y/N asks.

"Dancing, I mean. It's how I like to relieve stress."

"Ah, I see. I agree, it is a nice stress reliever."

Then, Mr. Kim comes into class, chipper as usual.

"Hello class!" he chirps, "I want you all to have as much time as possible today, so be quiet and pay attention." With everyone now focused on him, he continues. "In two days— on Friday, that is— we will have a test covering the material we have been learning about these past weeks, that being asteroids, comets, the Sun, and satellites."

The class lets out a collective groan... and Jongin has a look of sheer terror on his face, which Y/N notices.

"But as always, that means that today is a review day!" he continues happily. "So, come up here and get your review guide! Everything that is on the test is on there, but it would be wise of you to look back at your notes too."

Y/N goes up to Mr. Kim's desk and grabs two review packets and sets one on each of their desks. Before she starts on hers, she peers over and sees Jongin staring at his paper with the same horrified expression as before.

"I don't get any of this..." he mutters.

"I could help you study!" Y/N pipes up, knowing that he's been struggling in the class.

He turns to face her, and looking straight into her
E/C eyes, says flatly, "no thanks."

"I thought you said you weren't mad?" Y/N said, with confusion and a bit of pain in her expression.

"I'm not, it's just—" he pauses, unable to find any words, then sighs before speaking again. "I'll be fine. Plus we've been getting extra credit, you know?"

Y/N let's up. "You're right, okay then."

Eventually, class ended. Not much of a mess was left behind, so Y/N went home and Mr. Kim kept Jongin behind.

"You know, your grade in this class isn't that good. You have a 63," Mr. Kim told him in a grim tone.

"I know... I know..." Jongin replied glumly.

"If I were you, I'd accept Ms. Ricci's offer. To have at least a B overall, you need to get an 85 or higher on this exam... and extra credit can only do so much."
