{3rd Person POV}

Y/N finally finishes the quiz that covered the book her class had been reading. Literature being one of her best subjects, she confidently hands her paper to the teacher and waits for her to grade it.

"96, an A!" the woman says proudly. "Outstanding job Ms. Ricci!"

Y/N thanks her and walks back to her seat, looking up at the clock once she returns.

About five minutes left. I think I can finally get some reading done, she thinks to herself.

Ever since those first few incidents involving the book, Y/N had been avoiding it. But now, she thinks she can handle it. She sneaks the book out of her bag, places it in her lap, and lowers her head on the table to read it closer, but also to appear to be asleep. That creepy librarian made it very clear that she should keep it hidden, so Y/N did her best to do so.

And so, using the dark half of the Black Pearl, the vampire queen successfully brainwashed all of the vampires, convincing them that they should have power over the humans. The war to obtain the pure half of the Pearl had begun and the humans proved to be worthy adversaries, as the war lasted about 100 years—

Y/N was astonished at what she just read. How odd, it was just like the dream she had a couple of weeks ago! There definitely must be some connection to her dream and the book, but what, exactly? She's about to resume reading again when the bell rings.

I guess I'll just continue reading at home. She quickly packs up her stuff and hurries out the door, eager to meet up with Sehun. Y/N is slowly realizing her feelings for him, and she constantly wonders if he feels the same way. So naive... if only she knew what he had up his sleeve...

Y/N speedwalks through the halls, getting closer and closer to the lunchroom when she feels a tap on her shoulder. She turns around and sees that it's the nice blue-haired boy who showed her around on her first day.

"Oh hey! I haven't seen you in a while!" she greets him happily. "How've you been... sorry, what was your name?"

He simply chuckles and responds, "it's cool, my name's Lucas. And I've been good, how about you, Y/N? Have you been getting around okay?"

"I've been fine and yes, I've mostly gotten used to everything. My classes are also pretty easy too!"

"That's good to hear! Hey, I know making friends can be a bit hard, so do you wanna sit at my table today?"

Before Y/N answers, she pauses, thinking about Sehun. Lucas is nice, but what about Sehun? He wouldn't mind right?

She's wrong.

"Okay! I'll sit with you today!"

"Great!" Lucas happily replies. He leads her to a table farther in the back of the lunchroom, where it's less crowded and they sit across from each other.

"So Y/N, where are you from? I have a feeling you're not from Bloomingville."

"You're right! My old school was Wonderland High but because of my mom's business, we had to move. You've probably heard of her, Anh Eva. But I was actually born in the human world, in Venice, Italy. My dad was Italian and my mom is Black and Korean."

"Wow you're mixed too?! That's so cool! I'm Chinese and Thai, I'm from the human world too!"

"Woah that's awesome! Hehe, I'm happy that there's someone else like me," Y/N admitted rather shyly, but with a warm smile, with Lucas smiling in return.

"Oh, so I see you've met little Y/N Ricci too!" Y/N and Lucas turn to see Baekhyun approaching with a shorter boy unfamiliar to Y/N who had his hair cut short along with none other than Jongin.

The trio greet Lucas and sit down, Baekhyun next to Y/N and Jongin and the shorter boy sitting next to Lucas. They sit in awkward silence, waiting for someone to address the elephant in the room.

"Well since we're all here... Y/N, this is Kyungsoo. He's a bit shy but still nice. He also cooks very well!" Lucas says, gesturing to the short boy. "You've already met Baekhyun, our class clown... emphasis on clown. But, he's pretty chill too. And then the blond guy is—"

"We know each other. We have astronomy together," Jongin interjects.

"Huh, small world," Lucas says.

For the remainder of the lunch period, the group just casually chatted about random things. It was somewhat awkward for Y/N and Jongin, as he knew exactly what she was thinking; "What happened to, 'I like to keep to myself'?" He was correct, but Y/N just simply brushed it off, eventually joining in on the conversation— which actually helped him feel less tense, allowing him to hop in too.

At long last, it was the end of the lunch break, and everyone split up in their paths to their classes— except Baekhyun... he went to ditch, of course— and Jongin proposed to walk with Y/N to class together. Y/N agreed, happy with the kind offer... but someone definitely wasn't.
