{A/N: Blood warning again!}

{Jongin POV}

"Wha—?! Wh-what happened?"

The last thing I remember was seeing that bastard hurting Y/N before I blacked out and my vampire side took over. Judging from the tipped over dumpster, things got messy, but at least I chased him off. Wait— where's Y/N?!

My panic worsens when I become aware of the disgusting metallic taste in my mouth and the sticky red liquid around my lips... my worst fear is confirmed when I finally look down on the ground in front of me; Y/N is slumped unconscious against the brick wall, with two holes in the side of her neck and her skin, curls, and clothes soaked red.

"No... not again... I did it again..." I then find myself sobbing uncontrollably and tightly hugging her cold, lifeless body in my arms.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so so so sorry... I- I can't believe I let this happen again... oh Speranza, I'm so sorry." That name. That name tumbling out of my mouth causes my cries to grow louder and harder.

I knew it was stupid to think that things wouldn't happen like it did before. Like an idiot I believed that I could protect her from harm this time, but in the end, once again, I ended up being the person who hurt her. Maybe everyone was right this whole time, that I am a "freak" and a "monster" that just ruins everything. It's like, no matter what lifetime, I and whoever else gets dragged into my life have a one-way ticket to disaster; I guess that's just the inescapable fate for things like me—

"You there, young man! Are you alright?"

I look to the opening of the alley and am met with a bright light from a flashlight.

Shit, he's probably a cop! Shitshitshit what am I gonna do?!

The man walks closer to us and I'm relieved to see that, instead of being dressed in a police uniform, he's wearing scrubs.

"Move over, I need to check her vitals."

I lay Y/N back against the wall and stand up, stepping off to the side. The doctor crouches down beside her and presses a stethoscope to her chest, while also placing a thumb on her wrist. His face changes to a grim expression and he throws his stethoscope and bag aside.

"Wh-what's wrong??" I ask. "Is she okay?"

"She's barely clinging on, I must act fast," he responds.

"How? The nearest hospital is far from here and even with my car—"

"—I don't need a hospital."

"...What?"

"Shh!"

The doctor lays Y/N on her side and places both of his hands on the place where I bit her. I can barely believe what my eyes see next— a glowing light emits from his palms and fills the entire alleyway, and I have to shield my eyes from the brightness. When the light fades, I uncover my eyes and see that he's carrying her in his arms. I can't help but to smile when I see the subtle rise and fall of her chest, and all of the blood gone.

"Here, good as new," the doctor says, a proud grin on his face. "Her neck may feel a bit sore and her extremities may be weak from the neurotoxin for a couple of days, but besides that, she's fine." He then places her in my arms. He then scans my face and grimaces, lightly touching my swollen lip. "Oh, it appears you need a bit of a fix-up too."

"No, that's oka—" but then he wiggles his fingers in front of my face and I notice the pain fade.

"...Thank you doc, but... h-how did you...?" My eyes catch his badge, labeled with the name "Taem".
