"Open fire!" Jefferson tells the guard. Ky stood behind them, feeling completely useless, usually the first on the front line. Not this time; her powers wouldn't work, no matter how hard she tried. It was like tiny silver sparks would erupt from her hands, sputtering and then fizzling out straight away. This only amplified the feeling of dread in her. What else could go wrong for her? For all of them? Jefferson and the guard start shooting at the Ood.
"We're stabilising..." Zach's voice said, coming through the comms as the overhead shutters are finally closed."...We've got orbit." He continued. After the guards took down the Ood, Rose and Ky returned to the comms unit. Grabbing the radio, Rose shouts down it, "Doctor? Doctor, can you hear me? Doctor, Ida, are you there?" With her standing so close to Rose, Ky shouted down the radio too, "Dad? Dad? Dad, are you there? Ida? Can one of you please answer me?" After both girls had tried contacting the two down in the hole, the door opened, "Open door 25." Ky instantly stood in front of Rose to protect her. She couldn't hurt them, but she could take any hits coming and survive so that Rose would have a chance to get away. Jefferson and the guard prepare to shoot, but it was Danny, "It's me! But they're coming..." "Close door 25." "...It's the Ood. They've gone mad."
"How many of them?" Jefferson asked the scared male. His next words made Ky want to find a place to put Rose so she could be safe. "All of them! All fifty!" "Danny, out of the way. Out of the way!" The security guard told him, pushing him out of the way, despite Danny's pleas and warning, "But they're armed! It's the interface device. I don't know how, but they're using it as a weapon." Ky was wrong earlier, it could get worse for them all."Open door 25." Jefferson opens the door. The leading Ood sticks its globe onto the female guard's forehead. She screams and dies. Jefferson starts shooting. "Seal door 24. Seal door 23." Jefferson says after getting the door shut and sealed. "Jefferson, what's happening there?" The Captain's voice echoed through the comms.
"I've got very little ammunition, sir. How about you?" Jefferson asks the captain, over the radio, who replies, "All I've got is a bolt gun. With er, all of one bolt. I could take out a grand total of one Ood. Fat lot of good that is." After hearing this, the head guard says, "Given the emergency, I recommend strategy nine." "Strategy Nine. Agreed. Right, we need to get everyone together. Rose, Kyraiah? What about Ida and the Doctor? Any word?" Zach agrees with Jefferson and also asks the girls."We can't get a reply. Just nothing. We keep trying, but it's..." Rose starts, but gets cut off by static and then the Doctor. "No, sorry, I'm fine. Still here." "You could've said, you stupid," the Blonde tells him. A screechy noise came through the comms, "Whoa. Careful! Anyway, it's both of us. Me and Ida. Hello. But the seal opened up. It's gone. All we've got left is this chasm." The Timelord tells his human companion.
"How deep is it?" The captain asked the pair down in the tunnel. "Can't tell. It looks like it goes down forever." The timelord told him." The pit is open. That's what it said." The redhead mutters, just as Zach asks through the comms, "But there's nothing. I mean, there's nothing coming out?" "No, no. No sign of the Beast." The Timelord tells him. This alone scares and calms Ky simultaneously, two very different emotions swirling in the young girl's body. Even though she had better control of her emotions, conflicting emotions like this sometimes made her struggle to keep her powers under control. Not that, that was an issue at this moment when they wouldn't work.
"It said Satan," Rose said back, scared. This ended up being the beginning of everyone talking over each other, minus the two Timelords, that is. "Come on, Rose. Keep it together." The doctor tried, but it was all in vain. Fear was like a disease, a very fast-spreading disease. And a very fast-acting one.
"Is there no such thing? Doctor. Doctor, tell me there's no such thing." The young blonde said, her fear finally rushing completely to the surface. Ky was only able to stay calm because of her lack of faith in this being a real Satan. That and she needs to stay calm. And there were these steady waves of calm reaching her that seemingly came from below her. And they were, it was her dad, he knew what his daughter was feeling, and he knew what he had to do.
