Max's POV -
I sat at a rectangular lunch table, across from Jane. I wasn't eating because the food looked like it came straight from a swamp, no joke. The funny thing was, I didn't even know what it was supposed to be. But the food didn't matter anyways, I was too busy listening to Jane ramble about everything.
At that point, I wasn't even listening anymore. I was just staring at her lips as the words emerged from her. And I occasionally nodded to assure her that I was listening.
"H-Hey Max-!" A chubby teenage boy approached our table.
"No." I interrupted him. His face fell, and his cheeks turned pink. I was angry he had interrupted Jane's rambling.
"B-but I didn't say anything-!" He stuttered. El covered her face with her hands.
"Does it look like I give a fuck?" I blurted. GOD DAMN I SHOULDN'T HAVE SAID THAT.
El shot me a disappointed glare, "Max!" She exclaimed, crossing her arms. "Say sorry right now!"
I huffed, as I slowly turned to the boy. I gave him an annoyed look. "Sorry I rejected you." I said without any hint of being genuine.
"I didn't ask you out though-" He started.
"I said I'm sorry!" I repeated myself, getting aggravated.
"I was gonna give you a paper you dropped in the hallway! Geez!" He slammed a paper on the table, signed with my name. Regret filled my veins.
"Oh god I'm so sorry-" I sighed, the boy just stormed off. I groaned in frustration as I shoved the stupid paper in my backpack.
"Max, that wasn't very kind." Jane mumbled, looking at me like an angry parent would.
"I know, I know.." I started, "It's just that he interrupted you, and you know how tired I am of boys asking me out!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands in the air.
"Well I understand, but you can't just stay single forever." Jane sighed, crossing her arms on the table.
"I just don't want a boyfriend!" I rolled my head back, forgetting I wasn't out of the closet.
"What? Why not?" Jane scrunched her eyebrows. She stared at me for an answer.
I looked back down at her slowly, Should I tell her?.. I bit my tongue as I glanced at the table nervously.
"Well.. I just don't like boys." My stomach churned, I couldn't be any more anxious than I already was.
"Oh." Jane seemed lost for words. Confusion was planted on her face. She took a deep breath before opening her mouth to say something.
"Well, um. Since we're on the subject.. I don't really like boys either." Jane pinched her eyes shut, it seemed like it hurt her to say that."No offense, but I could kinda tell by the way you kissed me two times." I joked, lightening the mood. Jane looked up at me, giggling a bit.
"And I could tell from how you compliment my ass whenever I bend down to pick up something." Jane replied, her smile growing wider somehow.
"But hey, your ass is pretty nice." I admitted. I wasn't even joking either. And I didn't even mean it in a perverted way, she just genuinely had a very beautiful ass. What the hell does that even mean?? BEAUTIFUL ASS?? HUH?
"Aw thanks Maxie." She pretended to be flattered as she rested a hand on her chest in awe.
I just winked in response, causing her to smile and roll her eyes playfully.

It was math class again. Living hell.
I had no clue what he was talking about, but it didn't matter. I had been put into geometry even though I already took that class in my freshman year, so it wasn't like I needed to pay attention anyways.
I was practically dying of boredom. I looked around the room for something besides Jane to stare at, because I didn't want her to get suspicious of me. You could only stare at at someone for so long without feeling creepy.
My eyes landed on a chip in the wall. I wasn't sure what about a blot of missing paint on a wall was so mesmerizing, but I felt like my mind went blank.
Of course I couldn't just stare at the random chip on the wall, it wouldn't be right to just stare off into nothingness without daydreaming.
My mind flipped to different scenarios like tv channels, my creativity being tested by all of my different made up stories.
All of a sudden, I had the perfect scenario. I was in Jane's room. She was wearing a gorgeous pink dress that made her look like a princess, but 100% hotter. Her hair was all curly, and it flowed down to her cleavage. Her eyelashes were long and pretty, and of course her eyes were brighter than the sun.
"Max.. I-I love you." She stuttered.
"I.. love you too." I replied, seeing a sheepish smile growing on her face. Her lips were glossy and plump.
"But, we aren't supposed to love each other.." She looked down slightly.
I caressed her cheek, and tilted her head up to face mine. "Who cares love? We make our own rules."
Her adorable smile appeared once more, her eyes softened and gazed into mine lovingly.
I stared back into her eyes, my heart started to beat 100 miles per hour.
Her perfect eyes glanced at my lips and back to my eyes, I could tell what she was thinking.
Before I knew it, I leaned in and closed my eyes. Seconds later, I felt her lips attach themselves to mine.
She tasted like I always imagined, just like peaches. The lipgloss she always wore was peach flavored.
Our lips moved in synch, but I longed for more. I felt her smile against my lips as I licked hers, tasting more peach.
She opened her mouth-
(end of daydream)"How about you, Max?" I was snapped back into reality by my dumb ass teacher. I was dying internally. My eyes flashed to him.
"Uh, what?" I asked, cluelessly.
"What's the formula for slope." He asked simply.
Does this man think he's challenging me?.. Psh..
"Y=Ax+B." I answered flawlessly. I could tell from the shitty expression he gave me, he was hoping that I wouldn't know.
"Very well." He glanced back towards his board in defeat. I laughed internally.
I couldn't help but wonder where my thoughts would have gone if my teacher hadn't interrupted my daydream..
