Max's POV-

Me and Jane stood in the kitchen with our adorable matching aprons, preparing to make a cake. We didn't have a better idea, so baking was the best option.

"The box says it's red velvet flavor, what is red velvet?" Jane scrunched her eyebrows at the colorful Pillsbury cake mix box.

"You've never had red velvet?" I laughed, it was hard to believe that someone could ever be unfamiliar with red velvet.

"No, I've had red velvet cake before, but what is red velvet. Like, what is it made out of." Jane sat the box down next to the baking pan on the counter.

"I'm no chef, Jane." I replied, taking a spoon and dipping it in the container of icing.

Jane eyed my spoon suspiciously, "You better not eat all the icing, Maxie."

"Don't worry mom, I won't." I rolled my eyes playfully and stuck the spoon in my mouth, licking all of the icing off of the piece of silverware.

"Oh god- Do not call me mom." Jane huffed. I smirked and removed the spoon from my mouth, putting it back in the icing.

"Then stop acting like one." I smiled mischievously as I took the spoon out of the icing again, and stuck it in Jane's mouth.

The brunette gasped as she took the spoon out of her mouth, icing remaining on the corners of her rosy pink lips.

I took the spoon back from her and returned it into my mouth once again.

"We just french kissed over a spoon." I giggled immaturely.

Jane shoved me playfully as she blushed.

"OW JESUS CHRIST FUCK SHIT DAMN-!" I yelled loudly, I had burned my hand on the cake pan, taking it out of the oven with a cloth.

The cloth had a hole.

"MAXINE! LANGUAGE!" My mom exclaimed from upstairs. She was always either up in her room, or at work. She was a great mom and everything, just very distant.

I huffed as I examined the burn on my hand, as Jane made her way into the kitchen with a concerned look on her face.

"What happened?" She asked once she saw me holding my hand in pain.

"That god damn rag had a hole in it, and I burned my hand!" I exclaimed angrily.

"Lemme see." Jane grabbed my hand gently, and pulled it closer to her face. She was studying it like a text book.

"What's the diagnosis, doctor?" I joked, although I was in extreme pain.

"You are terribly hurt ma'am." She played along.

"Oh, is that so?" I frowned playfully. "How can I fix it?" I pouted.

"I have the perfect cure." Jane held a finger up with her free hand.

She pulled my hand closer to her face and started to plant tiny kisses all over the burn.

Oh god, the control it took me to keep myself from reacting to her lips on my skin..

My heart fluttered, and my skin tingled as she smiled against my skin after taking one last peck at it.

"I'm gonna need a bulk shipment of your treatment for whenever I get hurt." I smirked, internally swooning.

"Sure thing." Jane winked, giggling slightly.
