Max's POV-

Let's just say my trip to the principal's office was as pointless as it usually was. I just went in, and he sent me right back to class. Except math was already over. I would've rather skipped the trip and watch Nancy and Robin stare at each other with hearts in their eyes.

The rest of the day was pretty normal. I slept through world history, doodled hearts all over my homework during biology, and actually payed attention in english. But now I was outside of the band room on the floor, waiting for Jane to finish after-school practice.

I appreciated the time I got while waiting though, because I used it to ponder how I was going to ask Jane out on a date. Of course we were already dating, but I wanted to actually take her somewhere on a date. She deserved a night out. I was thinking about taking her to my favorite Italian restaurant.

But it was awfully hard to think with all of the ruckus coming from the room behind me. It sounded like a very crappy version of 'Sweet Caroline'. But I couldn't judge their playing, they had just started working on the piece so it wasn't supposed to sound good yet.

My ass began to get sore from sitting on the hard floor, so I decided to stand up. Conveniently, there was a window on the band room door, so I peeked through it to see if I could catch a glance of my girlfriend. There she was, sitting in the second to front row, holding her flute so delicately. As angelic as she looked, I could tell she was exhausted. I decided to stop looking through the window before anyone caught me.

Soon after, the music came to a halt and an excited smile grew on my face. I heard the muffled voices of band nerds and waited for them to erupt from the band room in a huge crowd like usual.

I only had to wait about 60 seconds before most of the people exited the room at the same time, I made sure to press my body against the wall to avoid anyone bumping into me. Once they fled, I entered the band room for Jane to be the only one left in there. Just where she always was.

"Maxine is that you? I can sense you're here." Jane giggled, her back facing me as she clipped her flute case shut and turned around.

"Ooh I didn't know my girlfriend was a witch!" I smirked, stepping closer and placing a kiss on her forehead. "I missed you."

"I was only in here for an hour silly." She rolled her eyes playfully, placing a hand on my chest gently and pushing me aside to put her case on a shelf in the back of the room.

"In my defense, it felt like a lot longer having to sit on the hard floor outside." I explained, crossing my arms as I followed her closely.

"Well it's your choice to sit out there every day and wait for me like a stray puppy, not mine." She grinned, facing me once again.

"I can't help it Janie," I pouted, stepping closer to her, "I'm madly in love with you and I can't stand for us to be separated." I sighed dramatically, slapping a hand to my heart.

She giggled, placed a hand on my shoulder, and stood on her tiptoes to kiss my cheek, "Let's go Maxie."

Before she could drag me away, I tugged on her hand and she turned around. "Hold on, one more thing." I smiled nervously.

She turned around and gave me an amused look, causing me to grow more nervous for no reason. I unintentionally gripped her hand tighter before continuing, "Uh, so I was wondering if you would like me to.. um, take you out on a date?"

"First of all,  jesus christ- Maxine, your grip on my hand is horrifyingly tight, and second of all.." She didn't finish her sentence, she just smashed her lips onto mine and brought her free hand up to cup my face as she did so. She pulled away softly, leaving my lips tingly and hungry for more.
