Max's POV-

I woke up to a stabbing pain in my neck, "Ow, god damn" I mumbled groggily.

I sat up gently, trying not to wake the sleeping brunette beside me. Jane spent the night because we stayed up very late watching horror movies. I emerged from the blankets, standing up lazily.

My right hand clung to my neck gently as I walked through my doorframe and into the hallway.

I made my way to the nearest bathroom, so that I could use a damp cold rag to cool down my neck.

My feet shuffled against the hard wood floor. I inhaled a deep breath of air, trying to ease the pain somehow.

"Good morning, Max." My mom greeted me with folded towels in her hands. She planted a soft kiss on my cheek, and I scrunched my nose as I responded, "Morning."

She walked pass me with a smile, and I continued making my way to the bathroom.

I was about to turn the knob before I noticed a sound. I could hear the water running.

Ugh. Billy.

I sighed loudly, not wanting to go to the upstairs bathroom. And I knew that Billy wouldn't be out any time soon, so I just turned around and made my way back to my room.

Once I reached my bedroom, I quietly entered trying my hardest to not make a sound.

I noticed Jane's crazy bed head, and giggled silently. She was so cute.

She was also in my clothes as pajamas. I loved her in my clothes, and in my bed.

I would give her my whole closet if it meant that she would sleep in my bed all the time.

I snapped out of my thoughts after I caught myself staring.

My eyes wondered to my clock, wanting to check the time. It was only eight thirty, so I decided to go back to sleep.

But something else on my nightstand caught my attention; my red polaroid camera.

I had a great idea as I picked up the camera, pointing it to the sleeping angel in my bed.

I was going to take a photo to capture her adorable bed head, and annoy the hell out of her with it when she woke up.

I snapped the picture quickly, and sat the camera down so that I could flap the photo around to make it appear faster.

Jane moved a bit at the cracking sound the camera made when it took the picture. She groaned something inaudible, and she was obviously still asleep so I didn't worry about it.

I giggled to myself as I watched the picture appear, it was my favorite that I had taken so far.

I laid the picture down next to my camera, and got back into bed. I pulled the covers back over me, and adjusted myself. As I turned to my side, I caught a whiff of Jane's vanilla shampoo.

But before I knew it, the pain had returned. I groaned in pain, laying my hand back on my neck.

At the sound of my groaning, Jane's head peeped up from being smushed in my pillows, and her eyes filled with worry.

"Are you ok?" She asked with her raspy morning voice. Her voice gave me goosebumps, and butterflies all over, but I just attempted to push those feelings away.

"Oh Jane, I'm so sorry for waking you." I sighed, "My neck hurts like hell."

Jane sat up closer, to have a better view of my neck. I removed my hand for her to explore my neck. "You must have really bad luck." She said.

Her eyes traveled around my neck, making their way back to my eyes. I sighed in response.

"I don't see anything." She said curiously, "Maybe you slept in a bad position."

"Yeah maybe." I agreed.

Her eyes made their way back to my neck, I wondered how my neck could draw her attention so easily. There was nothing visibly wrong with it.

"Where does it hurt?" She asked.

"Here" I pointed to the right side of my neck. I watched her smile slightly.

I felt a pair of warm, soft lips connect with my skin. My pain went numb, and my heart did a whole ass gymnastics routine.

She pulled away, her smile growing. "Better?" She asked simply.

I found myself speechless. My mouth just hung open, it was like my speech was on pause. But although I wasn't saying anything, my brain on the other hand, was flooding with thoughts.

That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic. That wasn't platonic.

"Are you ok? Did that hurt?" Jane's smile faded, I could tell she thought that I didn't enjoy her kiss.

"Oh yeah! I'm totally f-fine!" I stuttered, mentally cursing myself. Stop being obviously flustered.

Jane wore a relieved expression on her face, "For a second there, I thought you were gonna pass out!" She let out a small giggle.

My insides churned, and my cheeks flushed red. Wait, so was that platonic or not?

I was just beyond confused at that point.

To change the subject, I touched her messy bed head hair.

"Looks like you slept pretty well according to your hair." I smirked, running my fingers through her very tangly yet soft brunette hair.

"You shouldn't be one to judge, your hair is wild too." Jane rolled her eyes playfully.

"Have you seen your bed head?" I laughed, letting go of her hair and grabbing the polaroid photo to show her.

Jane gasped as she held the picture in her hands, "When did you take this?!"

"Like five minutes ago!" I grinned at her embarrassment.

"You are so creepy I swear to god-" Jane snickered, covering her face with her hands.
