Chapter 11 - Sick p2 ♡

Max's POV-

Jane laid on her bed miserably, and I couldn't help but feel pity for her. I had experienced food poisoning before, and I understood how she felt.

She didn't have much of an appetite, but I tried to get her to eat some crackers. I knew that she would have to eat, regardless.

I walked into her room with a bowl of freshly cut watermelon, I was attempting to get her to eat again. "Look at what I broughtt!" I said in a sing-song voice, trying to lift her spirit.

The brunette sat up slightly with a painful smile on her face. I frowned a bit at her. I was finding it impossible to be cheerful when Jane felt sick.

I walked over to her bed and sat on the end, with the bowl of watermelon sitting in my lap.

"Do you wanna try some?" I asked, moving the bowl closer to her. She shook her head silently, biting her lip.

I frowned, taking the watermelon back onto my lap. "You'll have to eat eventually, Jane"

She sighed through her nose and pouted slightly. Her right arm reached out to hesitantly grab a piece of watermelon.

A smile tugged at my lips, and I held the bowl closer to her. Her fingers grasped one of the smaller pieces, and she slowly took a small bite.

"See? Progress" I crossed my arms happily.

She rolled her eyes playfully, "I better not throw this up."

"I promise you won't." I said, bringing my legs up onto the bed and grabbing a piece of watermelon.

"But what if I do?" She pouted.

I laid a hand on her shoulder, "Listen to me, Jane. If you get sick again, then you can blame it on me, and I'll do anything you want ok?"

The brunette wore a sneaky smile, "Anything I want?"

I scrunched my eyebrows, releasing my grip on her shoulder. "Uh, yeah? I guess. As long as you don't make me kill someone."

"Hmmm," She started, pursing her lips. "I want a kiss" Jane giggled.

"You didn't even throw up yet, silly" I snickered, as the heat rose in my cheeks.

"Not yet" She shrugged sneakily. I sent her a look of confusion, and she just raised an eyebrow.

"So is it a deal or no?" Jane asked, wanting to confirm our deal.

"Fine.. But you have to rinse out your mouth after throwing up." I reasoned.

She nodded happily, grabbing another piece of watermelon.

I stood up, moving the bowl to her nightstand. "Any other requests, princess?" I joked, resting my hands on my hips.

She got back under the covers, put her slice of watermelon back in the bowl, and motioned for me to get into the bed by patting the spot next to her.

"What?" I chuckled, oblivious to her request.

"Cuddle me, Maxie." She answered, frowning adorably. Something about the way she said my nickname made me fall in love even more than I was before.

"How can I say no to you?" I sighed, slipping into the silky smooth sheets and covering myself.

Jane smiled and kissed my cheek, burrying her head into the crook of my neck. My heart was on the verge of exploding from how adorable she was, and I pulled her closer to me. My arms were wrapped around her waist, our bodies warming up each other.
