Hawks POV
I left a little while later, anxiety punching me in the stomach as I felt the usually calming air on my face. The visors protected my eyes from the occasional bug and from the way-to-bright sun.
The flight allows me to think about stuff, causing the anxiety to completely overtake me. I know that if Dabi saw me and her right now, he would instantly wonder why the hell I haven't brought her to him yet, rethinking me and my loyalties. I chose the league. I did that when I didn't tell the commissions about anything I know. And I don't know why I did.
The reasoning for what I did butchers my thoughts over and over. But after watching her sleep peacefully a few nights ago I think I know why. I liked her as soon as I met her. She had this demeanor to her that lets you know she means business and then when I got to know her better I guess I realized I really liked her- that I loved her. When the commission's first gave me the mission to spy on the league they told me to let go of all the people they hurt right in front of me. They told me that the end goal is more important. If I had told them about (y/n) they wouldn't have cared to save her. They wouldn't have tried to stop the League because of the end goal. Being a part of the League gave me a chance, just a small chance to maybe get her out of the situation. To maybe be able to steer Dabi in another direction. But, Dabi is pretty fixated on her.
Who knows? Maybe through his plans she and I will always be together?
I eventually landed in front of the main building. Students filled the halls, some of them stopping to stare and ask for the occasional autograph. Eventually I asked some, what looked like third-years, where I could find Eraser Head, who led me to his classroom.
I knocked on the door hoping for a response, but I didn't get anything. I knocked again, and again. Giving up, I opened the door, "Hellooo, anyone in here-?" Immediately I see the sleep deprived man sitting at his desk, grumbling something. Eraser turns his head towards me, his eyes automatically closing out of annoyance.
"Is there something I can do for you Hawks?" He asks with distaste.
I walk in, closing the door behind me and making my way to his desk. I wiped off the care-free persona and replaced it with a serious expression, "Yes, there is, but before that, I wanted to know what you thought about (y/n)," I said.
"(y/n)? I think she has great potential to become a hero. She has a great set of fighting skills, a good handle on her quirk. She-"
"Not that rehearsed shit, Eraser," I cut him off.
"Where the hell do you get off on talking to me like that Hawks?" He stands up, his eyes glowing red. Well shit.
I put my hands up, surrendering, "Sit down, man, I just wanted to know some stuff,"
"You mean you wanted to know about (y/n)," he corrected me. I nodded, "what did you want to know?"
I want to know what information she's looking for, "Why does (y/n) have such an interest in traitors?"
His eyes went wide and it was confirmation I needed: He knows something and so does (y/n). He takes off the sleeping bag and steps out, "What (y/n) does or doesn't have an interest in is really not my problem," he yawns, "and it also doesn't matter. It's possible that it's an assignment, probably from Midnight because she is big on the 'do your own interests' kind of teacher," He takes in a breath, and from what I can tell, his heart is racing. Why is your heart racing Eraser?
After a few seconds of silence he spoke, "Why do you have a problem with (y/n)'s interest in traitors? Hawks," there is a sly smile, almost invisible if you didn't look clearly enough. What am I going to say for this?
I smile wide, "I'm a hero, suspicious hero at that. Anyone would be suspicious if they saw students carrying files labeled 'traitors'. I just wanted to be safe is all," He nods twice, and I mean two times. His heart is still racing, yet his face expresses literally no emotion.
There was a knock at the door, "Mr. Aizawa? I'm here about the informa-" (y/n) walks through the door in her school uniform, her hair in a bun. Her eyes set on me, "Hawks? What are you doing here?"
Shit. Okay, play this cool, "I just came to give an update about your progress since the work study started,"
She raises an eyebrow, "Doesn't your secretary do that?"
"Well, yes but I realized that those reports don't give an accurate description of your progress, so I figured that I would come in and give one personally," I look at Eraser who looks just as dumbfounded as I feel.
"Huh... interesting," (y/n) says, lost in thought, "Okay, I guess I'll come back later," she yelps out cheerfully, a little too cheerfully.
"No no, it's fine," I say walking past her, "I've got everything that I need. I turn around, "Thank you Eraser," He nods and without another word, I'm out of there.
There are two things I got out of that. One, Eraser, maybe the school, is looking for traitors. and two, they're having (y/n) figure out who it is.
