Forgot I wrote this chapter; Also thank you guys for 3.9k reads! Still on a break though, I was just checking something as I plan out the rest of the stories. This is probably going to be the last chapter for another week or two
Keigo's POV
Dabi. Again. Not that I can complain. Ever since he figured me out and forced me onto his side, or made his ultimatum, things have been... decent and I feel so guilty to say that. The whole "I like to kill people and burn them to ash" thing is not cool, but I guess he's kinda fun? I don't know. All I know is that when I smile and hanging out with the league is genuine.
And I hate it.
I fly over to the League. All he said on the phone was get your ass over here bird brain and ended the call. He didn't sound pissed or anything, but it's still unnerving whenever he does that.
I land and swing the door open without a knock, "Guess who is here?" I call out grabbing everyones attention, "Me!" I stretch my arms over my head and plop down on the couch between Toga and Twice. The air is filled with smoke, which is from non other than Dabi of course.
I cough loudly and purposefully as he walks in, "Shut the fuck up birdbrain," Dabi snarls as he walks over to the bar for a drink.
I smile, "No," He rolls his blue eyes and stands near the window looking out like a broken record, but he's smiling. We sit there in silence, awkward silence as the three of us watch Dabi. The dude is never like this. He's usually just lounging around, and being depressing as hell.
"You good man?" I finally say, getting annoyed of the silence.
He looks at me, "well, not anymore," he rolls his eyes.
"You know, there's absolutely no reason for you to be so mean y'know," I get up and shrug.
He gives a haughty laugh and then beckons me to follow him so I do. we walk through the halls, which is so damn musty and smoky I can't even see my hands in front of me, "Dude, get some ventilation," I advise.
Dabi snorts, "You wanna give us some, rich bird?"
"Nah, figure it out,"
We eventually get to a room filled with computers that are really outdated and old. A video of the sports festival is playing on a loop. I dismiss it and look back at Dabi's back, "What is going on cause unlike you I have a job and shit to do on the daily," I cross my arms, annoyed.
"Patience bird," He says without turning around. He types something on the computer for a little while when I hear (y/n)'s voice. I turn around looking for the sound when I realize it's from the video. I walk over to the computer playing it and watch as she fights Bakugo. The way she fights, the way she grabs her arm when he dislocated it. The way she dodged his explosions, and then lunged at him with her own power.
It was hot.
"Oh yeah, the reason I called you," Dabi said after a few minutes.
"You forgot I was here?!" I asked in disbelief. He's got to be joking. Oh wait. He doesn't joke.
Dabi just shrugged and came over to me, "She's your girlfriend or whatever you are right?" I stiffened. Fuck confirming that. I may be a little more comfortable now, but this dude, like his quirk, is unpredictable. If he knew how close (y/n) actually is to me, things would get uglier really quickly.
I just shrug and wait for him to continue, "So that means yes, if you guys aren't dating, then you're close," He states. I don't let any emotion other than cockiness be smeared on my face, at least I hope that it's all that's smeared on my face. He can't know anything about me and (y/n).
"I've been studying this girl since the whole Nomu, drug fest and when you helped me escape, I had been thinking about her. She has good power, and I think she could be useful to us," He explains, but his expression is like he's in a deeper thought, "her quirk is powerful, she's strong, hell she can put her own limbs back into their sockets. Her fighting style is interesting too. Look." he points to the screen and watches (y/n)'s gaze on Bakugou, "Look how she watches the tension in his arm to see the intensity of the explosion and watch how she dodges even in pain," He stares at the computer, "I've almost got her quirk figured out, but not entirely," he turns toward me, "got any insight?"
I shake my head. Fuck no, he's not getting any information about (y/n).
"Fine, but I have big plans for her,"
My entire body goes still as I watch the evil expression form on the patchworks face. His stapled face is in a smile, his purple hands hold a cigarette which is almost out, "What kind of plans?"
His evil smile, turns malicious, "I'll tell you soon birdbrain," he nods, blowing a puff of smoke out into the already smoke filled air. I cough again, this time because my lungs were being infected with smoke. He smiles at my discomfort, "for the meantime, you get four months with her, while I get my plans ready and then you deliver her to me," I stare at him.
He's being serious.
"What are your plans with her?" I ask again hardening my voice, "I'm not doing anything, especially not "delivering" her to you until I know what you're going to do," I cross my arms around my chest.
Dabi sighs, "I see progress, you get answers," and with that the conversation was over and there was no pushing him, not unless I wanted to be fried chicken.
I left the room and checked the time, and realized I should get back. I flew over the city, back to the agency but all I could think about was four months. I like (y/n) a lot. She's sweet, she's kind, she's strong. She has so much potential to be an amazing hero. I can't just betray her like that. What the hell is he thinking?
No, I need to remember. Wherever my loyalties are, whether that's with the LOV or the heroes, Dabi is still a self-centered, piece of patched up skin who has no feelings. If I tell him not to mess with (y/n) he's definitely going to go after her, just to test my loyalties. I need to make a decision for where my loyalties are. Then I can figure out what to do.
But four months isn't enough.
I'm thinking of doing an update schedule: Every Friday for sure, and occasionally Wednesdays? What do you think? (When I get back)Word Count: 1160
