"Hawks!" I yell out. We've been on patrol all day, shift was just about to end when there was a rowdy fight in the middle of the street. Hawks and I were the first ones to get to the scene, the overwhelming feeling of annoyance with one another is apparent to us, and apparently to the entire world (according to Miranda). He stood there, watching while one of the burly guys pinned me to the ground, ready to plant his fist, filled with painful and ugly looking rings, on my face. He stood there watching, his eyes just staring directly into mine, as if waiting to see what I would do if he refused to help me. SPOILER ALERT: HE DIDN'T HELP ME! I ended up leaving the scene with a broken nose and a painful red and purple bruise on the side of my face. At first I couldn't tell if the red was from the blood or if it was from the bruise, but then after I got myself to the ambulance, the red was definitely from the bruise and the blood.
I ended up making the trip back to school to see Recovery Girl, who made it go away with a kiss, literally. At least she kissed it away.
---------------
I haven't talked to Keigo in two days specifically since he basically let me get punched in the face. He hasn't even bothered to look at me, when he is clearly the nosy one. He needs to learn to mind his own business. What I had talked to Aizawa is, well yeah, it's about him, but that doesn't mean he has to know.
I can't help but wonder why he cares so much about what I say to Aizawa about him, unless he might know about the assignment? Aizawa had explained what happened in his and Keigo's exchange. The questions about the 'abnormal' interest I have in heroes and his lousy explanation to cover his ass. Him going to confront Aizawa was good and bad for him. Good for him because he probably now has some idea about the assignment, bad because he looks super guilty and is an extremely good candidate as a traitor among the heroes. With my work on him and Aizawa's work, we have a solid number of candidates.
"Hey (y/n)?" a feminine voice calls out my name I look up, meeting Lucy, the girl Keigo screwed on his desk, "Hawks sir needs you in his office,"
"Thanks, I'll be there," I smile. Wow, so he can't even send me a text or call me? He has to send the receptionist he fucked? Petty.
I leave the room making sure to take the boiling fury with me. I decide that I'm going to play the petty bitch role instead of the mature hero, unless he is playing the petty bitch role, then I'm going to be the better person, just to spite him.
I knock on the door and then open the door, "Hawks, you called for me?" I asked, my voice high-pitched and sweet. It's what Miranda calls my 'service' voice whenever I order take-out, or food anywhere.
"Come in," he says, his voice completely opposite of mine.
I closed the door carefully behind me and walked, or rather strutted to his desk. I haven't been to his office in a little bit. I forgot how big it was. "Was there something you needed?" I questioned when I made it to his desk.
He looked up from his desk, slipping a piece of paper under another - trying to hide it, "I need you to tell me your relationship with Eraser-head,"
Well this is new and completely unexpected, "What do you want to know?" I asked.
His eyes meet mine and I can see it so clearly, swirling with confusion, guilt and regret. Ha, he should be regretful, "How are you so close? Lets start there,"
I rub my shoulder trying to think, "Well, uh- In my first year, I had a grip on my quirk, but it wasn't anywhere near what it is now. I have Eraser-head to thank for that. He also just cared for me like a parent would, especially when my parents couldn't," Summarizing the bond Aizawa I have would be an insult. Aizawa was the one who found me the first time I had panicked. When we first moved into our dorms, mom was all against it and I panicked when he told me that my parents had "opted out of letting me stay at the dorms," I eventually spilled some of the suffocation my parents cause me on a daily basis, and so he was the one who convinced my parents to let me stay.
"Uh-huh and is there anything going on between you and Erasure-head?"
"EXCUSE ME?!"
"You heard me (y/n). Is there anything going on between you Erasure-head?" He asks again, so calmly, that it doesn't even sound like the most ridiculous question I had ever heard.
"What?! No! Never! He's like a parent figure to me. Why the hell would you ask me that?!" I ask angry. There goes the mature hero.
He shrugged, "I'm conducting an investigation," he says, "there is a rumor that students at UA have been having inappropriate relationships with their teachers. I just needed to cross Erasure-head off the list,"
There was a second of silence in the room, which somehow was louder than my yelling, "Is this your way if trying to get me to tell you what Mr. Aizawa and I had been talking about?" I ask quietly, "because if you are that it manipulative as fuck,"
"No (y/n), because unlike you, I don't need to keep secrets from the people I love,"
"Oh my god, did you really just call me here, with the help of the girl you fucked in this room, to try to get me to tell you what I was talking to my teacher about?" I glared at his relaxed posture. His tightened jaw was the only dead giveaway that there was some kind of anger lingering.
"Yes, (y/n) I did," he got up from his chair, "I need to know what he was telling you!" he yelled.
"He was telling me that I might be able to take my Pro license test early!" I burst back.
He blinked his eyes, "Wait... what?"
I nodded, "The 'information' I wanted was if he could pull some strings to see if I could take the test early. I wanted to take it early since the beginning of the year, obviously to get away from my parents. What he did for me is... frowned upon and so he asked me to keep it a secret until he got confirmation that I could take it early," It was mostly the truth. Aizawa was helping me take the test early, but I still had not done my work-study so they said the second it was over I could take the test which is four months earlier than my classmates.
"So, you couldn't tell me because...."
"Because he asked me too. Like I said, it's frowned upon, and he's doing so much for me that it made sense to respect his wishes," I said. I watched as the hate evaporated from his eyes and
Keigo's gets up from his chair and walks around his desk and wraps his arms around me, "I'm sorry," he whispered into my neck, "I've been such an ass and so self-centered that I..." he moved to face me and pressed a small kiss to my nose, "I'm sorry I didn't help you and get that guy off of you, chickee," He kisses my cheek where the bruise used to be and then made his way to my lips. He presses his lips against mine softly. An 'I'm sorry' kiss, or maybe a reassuring kiss, to make sure he will always be there for me.
"You're going to have to do a lot of things to make up for your stupidity birdbrain,"
"I know, chickee, I know. I will do anything you want me too,"
A sudden silence falls on us, not awkward, but comforting. His arms around me, I feel safe.
He pulls away and I gaze on his face, "Some things," I say softly, "can't be told to the people they love, because people like me value trust and loyalty," His body goes rigid for a second before he relaxes again.
"You're right chickee," He brings me into his chest, "I love you, you know that right?"
I giggle, which comes out a little muffled, "I know. I love you too,"

Aww they made up...for now....
