My day consisted of this: Get up at 7am, doing a quick workout to keep my body strong, showering, putting in my contacts and then heading to work. At work, I'd serve customers, with whom I'm actually beginning to establish relationships with.

Then at exactly 12 pm, like clock-work, the new Mission: Test begins. Miranda handed me a file not too long after I started working at the Coffee and Cream. She told me to memorize and familiar myself with the thick file labeled Undercover 20234.

Even with the limited time, I was able to memorize a lot of the contents of the file. Putting names to faces, and making sure I know who is who, who comes by to the shop, and why they do.

My cover is that I'm just a runaway, looking for work. I make a small living at this job and, I tend to be a little greedy. I'm supposed to be very quiet, and I do as I'm told.

I don't like this cover.

"Maria?" I call out from the back fridge. It's now been two weeks since this brand new life. I keep an eye on the news to see if there is anything new about me or on Hawks, or even on the League, but it seems that the news has moved past the story. Better for me, because it means I'm coming home sooner than expected...at least that is what I tell myself.

"Yes Jenny?" Her accent coated her unwavering voice,

"Do I need to go get 2% milk from the market because we are completely out!" I call out, staring at the fridge stocked with so many different kinds of milks, my head is spinning.

"Not now, it's almost 12," she said walking into the backroom. The backroom is a place where both of us drop all acts. I leave behind my Australian accent, and allow the fake light in my eyes to dim, while Miranda lets her dark hair fall, and drops the three-octaves-too-high voice.

"My feet are killing me," she hisses, as she takes off her shoes and massages her foot.

"I guess that's what happens when you stand on your feet all day," I said, opening a bottle of water. Miranda sticks out her hand, signaling for the bottle, which I hand her. She and I have gotten even closer within the last few weeks. She has helped me manage my way through the shop, and has helped me practice for the meeting that's going to happen today.

"Are you ready?" She asked, after taking a couple of gulps of water, "for this meeting?"

I nod, taking the water back, and sitting down in the other chair, "I remember the file really well, and I watched as you interacted with them," I said, "I don't make eye-contact, and I remember my backstory,"

"Which is..." she prompts

"I ran away from home, I'm sad and live alone, and you took me under your wing, gave me a job, and helped me find a place to live," I say, reciting the file.

"And..?"

"And, I think I really like the son, Martin," I said finally, with a bitter taste in my throat. Martin is...evil, and that is putting it mildly. So far, he's assaulted so many women and men alike, he is ruthless like his father, trying to take over for him, one day. He is known for being very flirtatious and in the event that he does flirt...I am going to have to flirt back.

Miranda nodded, put her wig back on, and began to place her feet in her shoes, "Good," she smiles, "I'm glad you actually did the homework,"

"Yeah, well, I have nothing better to do," I shrugged, "besides, this is my first actual case, I can't help but be on my game,"

We shared a smile, and then the bell rang, signaling that we had a visitor, "Maria," a man called out. Maria whispered a tiny shit and yelled out, "Just a minute!" her accent coming back. She swiftly put her shoes back on and ran to the door. She looked out and her body tensed. Turning around she mouthed, Its him. Get ready

Like we staged, I went out first, and greeted myself, "Hi! My name is Jenny, what can I get started for you?" Very cheerful, big smile. Immediately I recognized the three people from the file. The main right hand, Arnav, the son Jason, and the lead assassin, Lyra.

"Who the fuck are you? Where's Maria?" The assassin asked. She was dressed in pretty normal looking clothes, in fact they all were. And they all had a viper going up their arms'.

Maira walked out, "I'm here," she said, "sorry this is my new employee Jenny," she said, "she knows about our deals that go on here,"

The assassin walked up to us and  pulled out a gun so fast, aiming it at Maria's head,  "I thought," she seethed, "that this was going to be a deal between us and this establishment. Not us, you and the little urchin over here," she said nodding to me.

Maria only smiled, "You're right. You and this establishment. That I own, that she too owns," Maria moved the gun away from her head, "this establishment includes her as well,"

The assassin looked back at her boss, who gave her a single nod, and she backed off, making sure to give me a dirty look, "What is your name?" the boss asked.

"Jenny Martinez,"

"Age?"

"21"

"Why are you here in this town?"

"I need a place to be, I place to start over,"

He raised a tattooed eyebrow, "Why?"

"I ran away, from my previous life. A life that doesn't need to be talked about," I say, making sure to lay on the thick Australian accent.

The henchman looked at his wristwatch and then back up at me, "there is no record of her,"

The boss looked at me, "Care to explain?"

"I changed my name," I come up with on the fly, "my life was threatened by many people, some including my parents," I make sure to look away, wiping a very-much nonexistent tear.

The assassin played with the knife, "You sure have all the answer,"

"And you sure have all the questions," I reply fast. With a deep breath, "Now, what can I get you?"
