Your POV
We waited for Hawks to leave the building, watching through the security cameras to make sure he was actually gone, "I had absolutely no idea he was coming here, if I did I would have said something, I'm so sorry-"
He raised his hand signaling me to shut-up, "We have a problem," He stared me down with, ironically, villainous eyes, "Hawks knows about the 'interest' in traitors," I nod in agreement. I hadn't mentioned to Aizawa about the few times he had confronted me about the 'interest in traitors', "You knew?"
I nod again, "I..did yes,"
"And you didn't bother telling me?!" He barked out.
I flinched, "I played it off, the reason he probably came today is because-"
"I don't care about why he came," Aizawa cut me off, hands folded over his chest, "(y/n) this isn't some random assignment where you get an A. This is an actual assignment, something you would get when you go pro and you can't make mistakes like this!" he bursted out. I stood there stunned. Aizawa has never yelled at me like this before. His eyes glowed with anger and frustration.
A few seconds passed and Aizawa closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Look, (y/n) I can't have you making mistakes, not for something as important as this. You've given me a solid amount of evidence to look into Hawks and I will do that. You're off the case, bring me all the files and things I gave you as soon as possible," He sat down leaving me breathless.
"I'm what?!" I blurted out a few seconds later.
He sighed, "I clearly overestimated your capabilities. I know your parents trained you but that doesn't mean you've taken classes, learned how to check for surroundings, how to lie well-"
Now it was my turn to cut him off, "Uh no, my lying skills are perfect. And yes, he knew about the traitor files I got from my dad because he was the one who helped me get them," He raised an eyebrow, "the only reason he probably got extra suspicious was because when you called me about the information I wanted when he was right next to me. He probably heard everything with his feathers. That's why they have a thing called texting Mr. Aizawa," I spat out. I took in a deep breath, realizing I basically yelled at my teacher.
There was another set of silence, that lasted a little bit longer.
"I don't know (y/n) I-"
"I need this. Please," My voice showed my desperation to keep this. Honestly, I don't know why I wanted this so bad. I could potentially get hurt by what I may uncover, and yet I need this.
Aizawa sighs, staring at his desk, like he is contemplating if I am 'worthy' of this assignment, "Alright, fine. You get to keep working on this assignment," I smile releasing the breath I had been holding, "but, if you mess up ever again you're done with this. Got it?" I nod, "Good, then what was the information you wanted?"
-----------
I knew it. Keigo has been lying straight to my face every single day I have asked him where he went in the middle of the night. He had no missions, not even in the past two weeks. The last time he had a "night mission" was when he took me on patrol and I had my first encounter with Dabi.
So what the fuck has he been doing?
-----------
I eventually made it back to the apartment. Miranda said she was going to be gone for the next week or so for an assignment, meaning that I had to make dinner for myself, but I'm exhausted. Between traveling and today's patrol, I am going to sleep like a baby.
I walk in, and there he is, sitting on my couch. Red wings, with a casual shirt, sweatpants, and blonde hair, "Keigo?"
He turns around. His eyes are slack, no crinkles to even signal a smile. His mouth pressed into a thin line as he got up, "Where were you?"
"I was at school. What are you doing here?" He took my bag from me, set it on the ground and then took my hand and led me to the couch, "Keigo?!"
He sighed heavily, bringing me into his lap, "I wanted to talk about today,"
Shit, "Okay? What's up?" I ask as nonchalantly as possible. I bet he can feel my heart racing, I for sure can.
"I just," he pauses, as if unsure of what to say, "I just wanted to know what information you needed from Aizawa," his voice strained.
My heart beat faster, "What? Why?"
"I just need to know, chickee," his voice is more relaxed now. Clearly, an attempt to not alarm me.
"Actually, you don't," I huffed, "that was a conversation between me and my teacher, that really doesn't have anything to do with you,"
"It does, if you're talking about me," he raised his voice, "what are you hiding from me (y/n)?"
I widened my eyes in shock, "I'm not hiding anything, Keigo. Can't say the same thing about you," I grumbled getting up from the couch to go to my room.
"The fuck does that mean!?" He barks out grabbing my wrist to turn me around
"It means you're lying to me about god knows what! You've been lying about-" I catch myself before I say any more. My blood is boiling, any ounce of worry was replaced with anger and fury. How the hell can he say I'm hiding something when he could literally be betraying hero society?!
"Finish your damn sentence, (y/n)," he spats, crossing his arms over his chest.
I take in a deep breath, "Get out," I say, "we can talk about this later. I've had a long day, and I really need to sleep,"
"I'm not leaving,"
"Fine then, I'll kick you out myself,". I grab his hand and drag him to the door. Realizing I'm serious about making him leave, he twists his arm out of my grasp and opens the door himself and slams it closed behind him.
