Your POV
Its been a few weeks since I opened up to Keigo about my messed up childhood. Since I've told him I've been nervous that he was going to start treating me like a broken doll, but if anything he's been giving me a harder time. We've been training harder, I mean he has pushed me so much that I've made four ER visits for my bleeding hands.
But the work has been paying off, and I can tell. I can tell it's harder for Keigo to take me down when we train and while I haven't completely taken him down yet, I think I'm getting there and that feels awesome.
In other news Bakugou has tried to contact me a few times since I rejected him a while ago. He's sent me threatening messages, rude messages, and surprisingly, 'I miss you' messages. Basically the messages of a really lonely person who is regretting a decision. I'm not going to lie, I do miss him, and I don't hate him for dumping me. For me, him dumping me to work on himself is a decent reason too. However, I do have self-respect and I ain't no little bitch, so I'm not going to run back to him like I'm desperate to be with him.
Because I'm not.
Today I woke up to find Miranda wasn't at her apartment, which is kind of a normal occurrence. Her bed was still made, which was a little surprising because she never cleans her room, but it's technically not my place to judge since I don't pay her rent or anything. I've asked her how much rent is because I've been staying here for about a month and I need to pay this girl, but she refuses to let me pay her. It feels weird to stay without paying her, so instead I've been buying groceries but I know it doesn't make up for it.
I went to the kitchen and made myself some iced coffee. I added a spoon of instant coffee powder and half a spoon of sugar and added a little water, mixing it before adding ice and some vanilla creamer. I mixed it in a mason jar, and then added a straw. Like I've been doing in the morning when I get time, I walk to the balcony and take in the scenery. Miranda lives on a top floor of an apartment building, and so the view is so pretty, especially at sunrise or sunset. Orange reflects off all the buildings nearby, and the sun sets right between these two buildings and sometimes little rays of light will come through them to make a beautiful scenery. I take in a deep breath of fresh air, and wished that I could feel this peaceful all the time, but I'm not that lucky in life.
As if to prove my point my phone started ringing and I ran back inside to see the call is from my mother. I considered not answering it saying that I was working out, but decided against it and answered the call.
"Good morning Mom!" I greeted as cheerfully as I could.
"Yes, yes good morning," She said, brushing off my peaceful and happy mood, "I called to see how the work-study was going. I want you to know that you can do it with us if you think that Hawks isn't helping you enough," I imagined her sitting at her desk, her coffee in front of her computer, probably leaning back in her chair with her glasses in her hand or in her hair.
"Actually things are going really well here," I answered truthfully, "Hawks has been helping me with my stamina training, so I can do better long distance,"
"Mmhmm," Damn, I can hear the judgement from here, "I'll be the judge of that when you come back," she sighed, "which is another reason I wanted to call you. When are you coming back home for break?"
Well technically I already came home but it's not like you know that, "Honestly mom, I'm not sure. I'll ask Hawks today and let you know?"
"Sounds good (y/n)," my mom sighed. God she is so depressing, "Well, call me about when you're coming home. I'll call you soon,"
"Bye mom," and then I hung up. Wonderful, now I have to go home. That doesn't sound like the best idea, in fact it sounds like an absolutely disgusting, and terrible idea.
