"You ready?" Miranda asked. Her brunette hair was tied back into a tight bun, just as my blonde hair was. Normally, my hair wouldn't be blonde for a formal debrief to the higher-ups, because it's apparently improper and gives a bad impression, but according to Miranda, the higher-ups (her's specifically) don't like the Public Commissions, and they owe my parents for years of service, so my secret will hopefully be kept.

"No," I say, taking a deep breath. I need to debrief them on what I know about Hawks, and the gang's involvement with the League of Villains. Then they'll give orders on what to do next, "I'm nervous,"

"You should be, I get nervous every time, and I've been doing this for years,"

I look at her, "That...is not helpful in the slightest,"

She chuckles, "I'm joking, they're actually really nice people, except one, Terrence," She explains as she puts on mascara, "he's the hard-ass, but Joey and Daina are really sweet. I think it's because they both used to be on the ground and actually lied for a living while Terrence never did that. He was in the military, which I give him credit for, but being in the military and in the undercover world are two very different ways of life," she continued to ramble, but I ignored it. She does that when she's nervous- she rambles about whatever as a way to take her mind off of whatever is stressing her out.

In the months that I've known Miranda, up until she left for what I assume was this mission, I realized the personality she showed me when she was at Hawks' agency and the personality she shows me now are different. I mean, yes, she is still very cheerful, happy, and positive (somehow) but while she used to be very boy obsessed, has now turned into a work obsession. What seemed to quite literally be the "dumb blonde" character, is the smart and cunning woman that a spy would really be.

She has the ability to change her personalities in an instant, and I want to be able to do that.

"Miranda," I say, but she doesn't hear me and continued to talk, "Miranda!"

"What?!"

"You need to calm down," I say, "you've put four coats of mascara, and have redone your eye-liner six times," I take the eye-liner from her, "what aren't you telling me?"

She grins, "You are perceptive,"

"I know,"

"And arrogant," she adds

"I know that too,"

She sighs, "The higher-ups may or may not chew me out," she said, "and it's because with your involvement, I've broken protocol after protocol. And, I have a history of breaking protocol,"

Every single person who wants to be a spy, knows the severity of breaking protocol, "You're afraid they might...fire you?" I ask quietly.

She nods solemnly, "No matter. If I'm out of a job, I can always join an agency. Of course, I would likely work paper stuff but better than no job,"

"Shut up," I say, "that's not going to happen. You are going to be fine, I'll do my best to make sure of it,"

She smiles, "Thanks Y/N,"

Her smile is anything but real, because she and I both know that I have no authority to do anything.

---------------

"Y/n L/n, please state your age," we turned on the video conference a couple minutes ago, waiting for the higher-ups to appear. The second they joined the call, they began the meeting.

"18 sir,"

"You will be turning nineteen soon?" I couldn't see their faces, so I assume that it must have been one of the men.

"Yes sir,"

Silence, "How long have you known Hawks?" a female asks, this must be Daina. Her voice is authoritative, however it feels forced.

"Since the sports festival, so about 10 months, however I cut contact in the last two and half months," I add. I don't want any unnecessary questions.

"Where did you meet Agent 20212?" Apparently thats Miranda's badge number.

"I have known her since my work-study, she and I met at the gym and our friendship has grown from there,"

More silence, "Moving from the basics, we want to know what you have uncovered in this mission so far. You must know that if your information is useless, you will be terminated from taking part in this mission, and will have failed your final exam,"

I resisted at looking at Miranda and stared right into the camera screen. She herself said that what I discovered is new developments, not only in her drug case but in terms of stopping the liberation army, "A couple of days ago, I was called to the Gang Headquarters. There the boss had wanted me to give him advice in an aspect he isn't informed in: recruitment. Supposedly, he is working with an organization that allows him to expand his drug trade, and in return the members of the gang need to join the organization," I explain.

"I assume you know the organization?"

"I have an idea yes. I believe that the gang is working with the League of Villains, and they want more people within the liberation army,"

There was silence for way too long. My heart pounded, and I realized I could no longer could resist the urge to look at Miranda, so I do. She looks just as nervous as I do.

"What makes you believe that the gang is working with the Liberation Army?"

I pause, "As I'm sure you know, the former Pro-Hero Hawks, was among the people who have betrayed hero society," I take the silence as confirmation and continue, "he was there. We exchanged words, which I made sure he didn't know who I was, considering our...relations,"

"Please repeat: You talked to him?" Daina asked.

"Yes,"

Silence. I look at Miranda again, who merely shrugged, "Are you sure that you still have your cover?" an older male voice asked.

"Yes,"

More silence. I'd rather hear whispers than silence.

"Y/N, you have given us extremely useful information in regards to the mission. In terms of the final exam, you have passed," I smile, "now we must ask, will you continue this mission?"

I look at Miranda who gave me an excited nod, "Yes,"

So... after way too long I have finally posted a chapter...

To be honest, I'm not sure when I will be posting again because school has truly been so stressful. I will finish this...hopefully
