Omfg thank you guys for 20,000+ reads! It's insane to think you guys would actually like this story and from the bottom of my heart I'm so thankful that you guys continue to come back and read it.
The drive to the safe house was pretty silent. Mom insisted she come with me, which I didn't mind, they're getting their own protection even though they themselves are heroes, and really don't need the protection.
We passed the city and drove into a pretty secluded area, usually used for camping. It feels stupid to be all the way out here, considering the possibility that it's easier to spot the one house looted with government officials and pro-heroes, but hey, who am I to judge.
"So, this... relationship with Hawks," Mom starts. Of course, that was probably the reason she wanted to come along.
"What about it?" I ask, trying to keep any attitude away, "I'll answer what your questions about it,"
"What did you guys do together? You know since it was all hush-hush," Mom asked, again for the millionth time she has surprised me.
I think back to memories, "It wasn't like we couldn't go out in public together. I was his work-study student, so in technicality it wouldn't look too suspicious. We just didn't do PDA," she nodded, "anyway, we did a lot of late night, walks- or flights, cause he is lazy to walk sometimes," I smile at the memory of looking at the stars late at night, "usually we would end up on a pretty high roof and we would talk about the stars, about what our lives would have been like if we were different, random things,"
I looked at mom, who was very interested, "Continue,"
"Our one big thing was coffee," I chuckled at the memory, "You know I like my coffee pretty bitter. I mean my order is usually a latte. But K- Hawks," almost said his name, "he likes his really sweet. Honestly, it's so sweet that I'm surprised his teeth haven't rot. So once we got coffee, and he wanted to try mine. I warned him that it would be bitter but he lied and said he liked bitter coffee. He took a sip, and the face he made was the funniest thing in the world. He struggled so much to swallow it. Safe to say that I was rolling on the floor,"
Mom laughed, "Reminds me of when I tried your coffee for the first time. His reaction wasn't wrong," she took a deep breath, "your coffee is terribly bitter,"
She continued to laugh at the stories I told her, "So tell me, how did you figure out he was the traitor?"
I open my mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. I'm not sure where I should start, "I first started suspecting it when he would be sneaking out all the time, lying about appointments, taking off out of nowhere, taking secretive calls. At first I chalked it up to normal secrecy as a Pro Hero. But then I heard him talking to someone about meeting up. I followed him and boom it was Dabi," Mom listened intently, holding on to every single detail I told her, "Obviously, then it was revealed about the traitor, and his true intentions with me,"
"Then everything that happened a week ago happened when the two of them ambushed you," Mom finished.
"Yeah, obviously there's more, but it's little things that make sense now,"
It was still silent in the car, Mom was lost in her thoughts while I was lost in mine. Even if I had told Aizawa sooner, the better option would have been to extract me out slowly, and then have the commissions take Hawks down. The thought of him and I together feels humiliating to me. the fact that we had all these memories that I was so emotionally connected to mean absolutely nothing to him is like everyone at school laughing at a student for showing up to school naked.
It feels that humiliating.
I want to wash my body over and over again. To wipe the stain of humiliation away. To wipe his touch away, to scrub every inch of myself, and hope that in the process I can scrub away all the memories I have when I was happy and believed him.

"Y/N, wake-up, we're here," Mom nudges me awake. It's dark outside now, and we're in front of an old rugged house.
"This is my safe house?" Like I said, it looks old, and unkept. Like the abandoned house that no one goes to on Halloween because there is one rumor about some stupid kid going missing. That's the house I get to live in, 'indefinitely'
Wonderful.
"Welcome to your humble home," Aizawa grumbled as he opened the door.
"Holy shit," the outside Is the biggest facade I have ever seen. Walking inside, the walls were nicely decorated, the floor was stylishly dark hardwood. The couches were sleek black, giving the room a modern look.
"It's a one bedroom one bath. It looks a lot bigger outside than it really is," Aizawa said, "there is food in the kitchen, and clothes in the bedroom. If you need anything else just press this thing once," he hands me a button.
"Whats this?" I ask, inspecting the device.
"It's a device that notifies the heroes on your protection that you need something. One press means non-emergent. Two means that you're suspicious of something, or it's not dire need. Three means emergency and if you press it three times there will be a standby of men waiting to aid you,"
"Uh, wow,"
"Just be sure that when you use it, you're one hundred percent sure about your decision,"
------------
It's taken a little time getting used to the new place. For one, I'm all alone here. Mom and I had to part ways. She went back home, and I assume is staying there for protection. I don't have any wifi, no TV, just a shelves filled with books, and my pile of homework, which Aizawa was so excited to give me.
Right before he left he turned around and reached into his scarf, "Also," he said with an evil grin, "here is your homework you've missed, I'm sure you'll have a lot of time to do it now,"
I gave him a disgusted look, "You were just waiting to give this to me,"
"Maybe," he leaves but turns around, "stay safe, Y/N. Don't forget, at the first sign of trouble you press the button,"
"I know," and I closed the door, starting my indefinite stay at the safe house.
