We were able to work out who the kidnapper was with Penelope's help. Surprisingly, it was the bus driver for the school kids.
"You know if Hocus Pocus taught me anything, is that you never trust bus drivers." I stated as we got ready to rush in.
"Ashley I want you and Derek to head to the basement and see if that's where he's keeping the kids." Aaron told making us nod.
"As long as I get dibs on breaking the door open." I told
"Alright then?" He told with slight confusion in his voice.
"How far backed up do you need us to be?" Derek asked.
"Not a step." I stated as I placed my foot against the door and pushed on it till it flung open.
We all went rushing to our areas, when we noticed that the unsub was in the basement with the girl.
"Hey Dan. We don't wanna hurt you." I told as Derek gave the team the signal where the unsub was.
"Stand back! Or I'll kill her." He told as he held a knife to her throat.
"I get that. You know it must have been hard, when mother dearest would get mad and take it out on you. Parents are suppose to protect you, not hurt you." I told as I slowly moved forward.
"Drop your gun and kick it over to the side." He told making me do just that.
"Ash?"
"Don't worry. I've got this." I stated as I put my hands up but still moved forward slowly.
"How do you know about my mother?"
"Multiple cases of you showing up at school with broken bones and bruises or cuts covering your body. But no one really helped you did they?"
"It's everyone's fault for what happened!" He explained as he pointed the knife towards me.
I quickly did a high kick, knocking the knife out of his hands, before kicking him in the gut so there was distance between him and the girl. I quickly grabbed him by the collar and I threw the unsub against the wall and pinned him so he could only look at me.
"I don't care who you are, or what happened to you. But I do know, you were abused as a child by your mother. Just cause you were abused doesn't give you the right to kidnap kids and abuse them yourself till they die! Because you are just giving your abuser the power, and you never do that!"
"Like you would know what it's like."
"Actually I fucken do. I was abused but I have never once hit a child or anyone that didn't deserve it! Cause if I did then I'm just as terrible as the man who did it to me! I protected my siblings from the monster we knew, and they never got hit. You became the monster that your mother was." I told before letting go of them enough so I could turn them around and cuff them.
Soon Derek came over and I passed him off him before walking past everyone and left the house and moved to sit in one of the cars.
'Hate cases of abuse.'

"Wanna talk?" David asked as he gave me some whiskey he kept on the jet as he sat across from me.
"Did you draw the short straw in seein' if I was ok? 'Cause 'onestly that's a big mood, if I 'ave ever seen one." I told not caring about my accent showing as I went back to seeing Spencer peacefully sleeping in the seat next to me.
"Sometimes talking helps after cases. Especially at times when everyone is asleep to hear it."
"The world is a fucked up place, Papa Rossi."
"Has anyone told you, you have a lovely accent."
"Be one of the first. I don't count Spence, 'cause he hates that I cover it up."
"Why do you cover it up?"
"Just do. Sometimes it reminds me of my fucked up childhood. Other times, people don't understand what the fuck I'm sayin'. So I mask it and.... you get how I usually sound to people." I told switching to my act that I do with my voice to hide it for that sentence.
"I agree with the kid. You should talk in your accent more."
"Maybe. Wouldn't bet on it."
"Do you want to talk about what you said to the unsub?" He asked making me shrug.
"Nothin' much to talk about there."
"That's why the case hit harder for you then the rest of us. Because you were their ages when it happened."
"It's all in the past. I would rather drink old whiskey and pretend like this case never happened. Care to join?" I asked extending my glass to cheers it with his.
"I wouldn't want it any other way, partner." He told doing a terrible southern accent.
"Never do that shit again, unless you know how to do the accent right." I joked making us quietly laugh.
'I can't wait to get home soon..... fuck I've got a gig. Should distract me.'
