I was in my bug room working on another song as Dean was doing whatever he was in the kitchen.
'This song is never right when I try to work on it.'
I tried to play some new cords for it only for it to not sound right to me.
'A year of me trying to write this song, and I can't. Maybe I should give up on it.'
The door was nudged opened to reveal Dean with two burgers. There was one cut in half making me smile to the fact he remembered that I liked it that way.
'Strange boy.'
"I made burgers." He told handing me my plate. "Cut in half. Just how you like it."
"I'm surprised you remember.... Also by the fact you cooked."
"I can cook thank you very much." He told making us chuckle as he came and sat on the floor next to me.

We ate in silence for a bit as I looked at my song book.
'I don't want to give up on this song.'
"What you lookin' at?" He asked quickly grabbing my book.
"Dean!"
"When did you draw me? It's pretty good I must say." He told holding it out of my reach.
"Dick."
"No I'm serious. But when did you draw me."
"I draw the people I think about when writing songs." I told finally getting it off of him and looking down at it.

(The dots at the side is from her tapping her pen on the book. Also will probably never do another page of her music book, dude to filling it up like this was difficult.)

"Can I hear it?"
"It's not finished. At this point I don't think it will be."
"Then let me decide."
"Not doing that Dean. Gonna just be an unreleased one at this point." I told shutting the book.
"Nope. We are fixing it the way I know how." He told getting up and doing something with his phone.
"How?" I asked only for him to click a few things before music began to play and he put the phone on the window seat.
He offered his hand to me as I recognised the song he picked.
'Our song.'
"Come on." He told pulling me into his arms as we began to slow dance making us smile.
'I miss this. But I also miss Shawn..... wonder how he's going, he hasn't called or texted recently. Probably busy with a case.'
Soon Dean began to sing with the song making me chuckle.
"But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my-"
He spun me around and we couldn't help but laugh at how this was going. We kept hold of one another till the song ended, to which we just gave the other a hug.
"Feel like we both need it, with what's going on."
"Yeah. Feel like we do, Bunny."
'Holy shit! I've worked it out.'
I pulled away and rushed to my guitar and book.
"You know how to fix the song." He stated as he caught on.
"You distracted me so I was able to. Yay!" I told making him laugh as he sat next to me.
"Play it then." He told.
"That's the plan Stan."
We got comfy in our spots and I began to play the cords I felt that fit the best with the lyrics.

"Oh, it's alright, oh

Oh hey, I had a night I had a day
I did one million stupid things
I said one billion foolish things
I'm not okay, I got a baseball bat beside my bed
The fight I fought inside my head
The fight I fought behind my meds
I'm lonely; lost in pain

It's alright, it's okay, it's alright, it's okay
You're not a monster, just a human
And you made a few mistakes
It's alright, it's okay, it's alright, it's okay
You're not gruesome, just human
And you made a few mistakes
It's alright, oh, it's okay, oh

Goddamn
I threw a brick right through the window
My life ignored the signals
I'm high and drunk on ego, can't see straight
So I just feel my way around and
I'm touching and I'm grabbing everything I can't be havin'
I am broken down in shame

It's alright, It's okay, it's alright, it's okay
You're not a demon, there's a reason
You behaved in that way
It's alright, it's okay, it's alright, it's okay
And I believe, yes I believe that you will see a better day
It's alright, oh, it's okay, oh, it's alright, oh

I don't wanna know who I am
'Cause heaven only knows what I'll find
I don't wanna know I'm not capable of coming out alive
I don't wanna see what's inside
I think that I would rather be blind
I don't wanna know I'm not capable, I'm capable

I'm alright, I'm okay, I'm alright, I'm okay
I'm not a monster, I'm a human
And I've made a few mistakes
I'm alright, I'm okay, I'm alright, I'm okay
I'm not gruesome, just human
And I've made a few
It's alright, It's okay, it's alright, it's okay
You're not a demon, there's a reason
You behaved in that way
It's alright, it's okay, it's alright, it's okay
I believe, yes I believe that you'll see a better day
It's alright."

I looked towards him to see he was smiling but he also had tears in his eyes.
"You really made a song about us?"
"Music helps me process things. I had to film a movie where all I wanted to do was find you and never let you go. I still sometimes think I might. When I feel that I went to work on this song only for me to never be able to find a way to finish it. It's just something was missing and I didn't know what. So I never finished it till now."
"Ride 'n die till the end?" He asked offering his hand.
"Ride 'n die till the end." I told accepting it making us smile.
Sadly though we got interrupted when my phone began to ring making me pick it up.
"Ahoy hoy?"
"Ash..."
"Don't call me Ash, Derek. How many times must I tell you this?"
"Till I can. Anyway, apparently we've got a case so we are all heading in and Pretty boy said I could call you."
"That's a lie! He stole my phone when I was about to Ash!" Spencer exclaimed from the background making me smile.
"I'll meet you guys at work then."
"See ya Ash."
"Can't call her Ash!" Spencer told.
"Baby face knows what's up. Bye guys." I told before hanging up and letting out a sigh.
"You gotta go?"
"Yeah. Case came up. Sorry we can't hang out more."
"It's all good. Surprising this has helped even if it's for a few hours." He told making me smile more.
"Your free to stay as long as you need to. You've got a key."
"No I don't."
"Dean.... I was talking about how you can pick lock shit."
"Yes I do." He told making us laugh.
'At least we can still have moments like this.'
"There's a spare key at the front desk. Just gotta tell them your house sitting for me, and tell them Oak is hungry."
"Oak is hungry?"
"It's the code word I give to people for them to get the key."
"Smart."
"It is." I told giving him a quick kiss on the cheek goodbye and a tight hug. "I hope your still here when I get back."
"I hope so as well. Just call if you need me and I'll go rushin' to wherever you are." He told before giving the side of my head a kiss.
"I will."
'I hope I won't need to though.'
