Suck It Up, Buttercup!

I've been writing since 2015 and I had encountered so many readers who corrected me a lot like they were my English teacher. Some people called them grammar nazi, some people may call them ignorant. Me, I call them encouragement, positive criticism, and sometimes, angels... depending on how they deliver their comment. Well, for me, I called them angels.

Why you may ask? The answer was plain and simple. Dahil sa kanila nakikita ko ang mali at naiwawasto sa ginawa ko. Sometimes, I have to close my eyes and imagine how the commenter's facial expression would be. Most of the time, I ask my friends who also read my stories what they think about the comment. It helps a lot.

Ang mga writers na nagagalit o nao-offend sa mga ganitong readers ay walang tiwala sa kanilang sariling kakayahan or they can not accept corrections.

If you are one of these writers, I ask you to examine yourselves. Look deep inside or maybe have someone you know that is very, very close to you read it and see how it is.

"Ah hello, walang taong perpekto." Hindi lahat ay nakikita ng mga mata natin, yan ang totoo. Kaya kung makasalubong man tayo ng mga ganitong readers, take advantage of it. Ayaw mo nun may libreng editor/critique ka na?

Oo nga't minsan, kung hindi man kadalasan, masakit sa mata mabasa ang comments nila na nangongorekta ng mali natin, but it is how it is. Nagsulat kasi tayo kaya may ganun.

Ano ba ang gusto natin? Puro papuri na lang ba kahit na wrong grammar naman? Kahit sa Tagalog nga minsan, wrong grammar pa rin. Wag ganun. Nasisisra kasi ang quality ng isinusulat natin.

Learn how to take criticism, whether good or bad, give it a little smile then go back, read it and correct it.

Thank you so much for following my Chick Lit Tricks and Tips. This is Ms. J, your ChickLit Admin. Until next time.
