Epilogue

"Did you hear about the new student?"

"I did!" my classmate said, nodding. "I heard she was a girl! I want to see her!"

"Me too. Let's go!"

My ears perked up in curiosity.

There's a new student?

Tumayo ako at sumunod sa dalawa kong kaklase na nagmamadaling pumunta sa classroom ng new student. Pagdating namin sa labas ng classroom ng kabilang section ay nagkukumpulan doon ang iba pang mga studyante galing sa ibang klase.

My curiosity heightened when I saw them trying to peek through the window of Grade 3-C's room.

Despite being only nine years old, I was already tall. At dahil mas matangkad ako sa kanila ay naging madali para sa 'kin na sumingit at tumigil sa harap ng bintana ng silid.

I roamed my eyes around the room, immediately stopping when I saw an unfamiliar girl.

"Wow..." I can't help but breathe out. 

She's so white! Like Snow White!

And she's pretty, too!

I think I already like her.

"I have a crush on her," sabi ng katabi ko. 

I frowned. But before I could even say anything, the boy beside him pushed him.

"You can't have a crush on her. I was the first one who saw her."

"So what if you were the first one who saw her? This isn't first-come, first-serve," was what I wanted to say but quickly decided against it.

I took one last glance at Snow White before turning around and going back to my room.

The next day, I brought a box of cupcakes to school. It was supposed to be for my little sister but I secretly took it when my mom wasn't looking.

My excitement was visible on my face. I just couldn't contain my wide smile. 

I was going to confess to Snow White.

That's why I brought a box of cupcakes. I wanted to give it to her because my dad told me that good boyfriends bring food to their girlfriends. And I wanted Snow White to be my first girlfriend.

When I arrived at their room, I looked for her but she was nowhere in sight. 

"Hi, Faustian!" A girl with pigtails greeted. "What are you doing outside our room? Your room is over there," she added, pointing towards a room two rooms away from theirs.

"I know," I answered, adjusting my glasses. "I'm waiting for Snow White."

"Snow White?" she tilted her head.

I nodded. "The pretty new student."

"Oh!" her eyes lit up in realization. "You mean Blair?"

Blair...

So that's Snow White's name.

It suits her!

The girl's eye dropped to the box of cupcakes I was holding.

"What's that?"

"Cupcakes," I answered. "I want to be Snow W―Blair's boyfriend."

"Then can you also be my boyfriend?" she asked, catching me off guard.
