I felt him stiffen under my touch.

I heard several gasps from our audience pero hindi ko iyon pinagtuunan ng pansin.

I slowly unclasped myself from him and took a step backward. I saw him staring at me in shock; his lips parted in awe. His adam's apple bobbed up and down as he visibly swallowed.

My lips curved upwards into a smile. "Let's be together, Crisostomo."

He opened his mouth to say something but decided against it; immediately closing it again.

I held his hand before tugging him. "Let's run away," I said before pulling him with me. Wala nang gumalaw after nun so Miss took that as a sign that our play has ended.

Miss absentmindedly clasped her hands together, relics of surprise still evident on her face. She cleared her throat. "Okay, thank you for that... surprising performance, group five."

Bumalik na kami sa pwesto namin. Napansin kong napatingin pa sa 'kin iyong iba naming mga kaklase pero hindi ko iyon pinansin.

"I will just calculate the scores and announce the winner tomorrow," Miss said. May sinabi pa siyang ibang mga bagay ngunit hindi ko na iyon pinakinggan.

"Blair," napalingon ako kay Brant at napansing nakataas iyong kilay niya. "What was that?"

"What was what?"

He eyed me. "Stop playing dumb. You know what I'm referring to."

"What?" I said, snorting. "The kiss?"

He squinted his eyes. "Hindi naman iyon parte ng script natin ah? Tsaka sa huli, dapat aalis si Crisostomo kasama si Elias. Bakit biglang umiba iyong ending? Bakit nagtanan si Crisostomo at Maria Clara?"

I shrugged. "Para may wow factor."

"Really?" he asked, crossing his arms against his chest.

"Yeah," I said, boredom lacing my voice. "May iba pa ba dapat na dahilan?"

He glanced in Faustian's direction. Sinundan ko iyon ng tingin ngunit ang likod lamang ni Faustian ang nakikita ko since sa harap siya nakaupo.

Brant snorted. "Ewan ko sa'yo, Blair."

"Saan ka punta?" Tanong ni Brant.

Tinaas ko iyong libro na hawak ko. "Ibabalik ko 'to sa lib."

His forehead creased. "Ang tagal na nyan na sa'yo ah?"

"Ngayon lang nabalik sa akin ni Kuya Sandro," I answered. 

"Hindi ka tinawagan ng school?" He asked, confused.

"Why would they call me?"

"May time limit ang pag-hiram ng libro. Three weeks lang ata pwede tapos kailangan nang ibalik. Kung hindi mo pa nababalik after three weeks, tatawagan ka nila at ichacharge ng penalty fee."

"Weh?" I asked. Wala namang tumawag sa 'kin.

"Oo nga," he answered. "Anyway mauuna na 'ko sa caf. Bahala ka na ah, hindi na kita sasamahan sa lib."

"K." I said. I turned on my heel and went to the library.

Dumiretso ako sa librarian's desk pero wala namang tao doon.

How do people return borrowed books?

Do I just leave it here? Or do I return it sa mismong shelf?
