Moonbyul and Solar went to a park for their date with Jenny and Lisa behind, keeping a distance from them. As they stroll side by side, Moonbyul can't stop staring at Solar's hand wanting to hold them.
She finally plucked up some courage, pushed her chest out confidently and reached out for her hand but Solar's hands repelled, pointing towards a tteokbokki stand, "Byul-ah! Let's go there!"
Moonbyul was left standing with her hands hanging in the air in a handshake position. She slowly curled her hand into a fist punching the air feeling embarrassed that she missed the chance to hold her hand. She glares at the giggling voices of Jenny and Lisa behind her, which made them cover their mouth.
Solar realises Moonbyul was not following her and looked back to see a hamster with puffy cheeks standing still, pouting. "Aigoo, is my baby lost?", she smiles at how cute Moonbyul looked and walked over to hold her hand, guiding her towards the tteokbokki stand. This made Moonbyul flash a toothy smile and hop behind Solar, with their hands slowly intertwined as they arrive at the stand.
"One plate of tteokbokki please." Solar told the shopkeeper then turns to Moonbyul, "What about you Byul-ah? What would you like?"
"I'll share with you." Moonbyul answered. When the food arrived, Solar was about to reach out for the chopstick to eat but realises her hands are still intertwined with Moonbyul's.
"Um... Byul? Would you let go for a bit? I can't-"
"Say Aaah" Moonbyul held out a chopstick with tteobokki to feed Solar which she ate it, blushing, "I don't want to let go of this hand, so just let me feed you."
"Aigoo... You girls are so close, you must be sisters." The shopkeeper says.
Moonbyul felt a pang of pain piercing through her chest, she gulped hard desperately want to explain that they're a couple but unsure if Solar is ready to come out to the world.
"Ahjumma~ We're a couple. She's my girlfriend" Solar said smiling at Moonbyul which returns a surprise look on her face. The shopkeeper just blinked a few times and pretended to get busy preparing more food, ignoring them.
As they continued their date, Moonbyul became more aware of their surroundings. She witnessed it all at the corner of her eyes, there were unpleasant stares of disgust. Getting more and more discouraged, Moonbyul loosened her grip but Solar's turn to hold on tightly.
Jenny and Lisa suddenly walked right in front of them and stopped. They looked into each other's eyes and started kissing passionately. Lisa's arms are wrapping around Jenny's waist while Jenny has hers wrapped around Lisa's neck, they both pulled in for a deeper kiss. The stares of disgust around them soon turned into shock and some parents started covering their children's eyes, while continuing to watch the show. Moonbyul and Solar are no exception.
"Mmmh... Baaaaabe, you're such a great kisser." Jenny commented loudly.
"That's because you're my partner, I wouldn't be able to do the same with others." Lisa replied.
Jenny and Lisa then looked around, "What? Can't I kiss my girlfriend in public?" They yelled, glaring at the spectators that quickly disperse. They looked to Moonbyul and Solar whose mouth are still open in shock.
"Yo Eclipse, at this rate the bugs will fly into your mouth" Lisa chuckled, making them shut their mouth instantly, "We're just trying to prove something – no matter what you do people will always judge you anyway so just do whatever you want, you don't live to please everybody." She explained their actions earlier. Moonbyul felt her tension lifted and nodded at Lisa.
They finally arrived at the beach to watch the sunset and saw a familiar figure.
"Eriiiiiiic" Solar called out, making him turn his head waving towards them.
"Hey! What are you ladies doing here?" He asked slowly approaching them, dressed in a swimming trunk while covering his upper body with a towel.
"We're here to watch the sunset. What about you?" Solar asked.
"Oh... Today is our swimming club outing, we just decided to swim at the beach for a change of environment."
"But it's so cold today! We're in the middle of Autumn right now."
"I know... But hey once you've tried it, you don't feel the chills anymore. Do you wanna try?" Eric offered looking at Solar then Moonbyul.
"No thanks, I don't have my swimming suit on today." Solar declined and Moonbyul felt relief.
"Okay, suit yourself." He chuckled and went for another lap before the sun sets. Moonbyul notices Solar watching attentively while Eric is swimming and Solar's response replayed in her head:
'No thanks, I don't have my swimming suit on TODAY.'
"So... if you had your swimming suit on today, you would've gone to swim with him?" Moonbyul pouted not realising she was thinking out loud.
"Are you being jealous right now?" Solar turns her attention to Moonbyul.
"Nothing, ignore what I said." Moonbyul shook her head, "I think I'm gonna go home, I don't feel good. But you can stay here I'll ask Wheein to come pick me up." She said, forcing a smile while she used an excuse to avoid Solar.
Moonbyul remembered the last time they quarrelled and the scene that happened at Itaewon Club had scarred her. She doesn't want the same thing to happen again, so she swore to not quarrel with Solar and just avoid having any conflicts.
Eric had just finished his swim and was approaching them, "Hey, you ladieeeeeees... Okay, Bye!!!" quickly turns away and dash towards his club members after witnessing Solar suddenly pulling Moonbyul's arm back to sit and kisses her.
"Hahh... Byul-ah, how's that? Feeling better now?" Solar looked into Moonbyul's shocking eyes but soon Moonbyul smiles and rests her forehead on Solar's, nodding.
"Babe... I'm sorry for feeling this way. I just don't want to bicker with you because the last time we did... Something could've happened." Moonbyul explained looking down and scratching her nape.
"That's okay, promise me that no matter what happens we'll talk things out and never leave each other's side. Okay?"
"Mmmkay..."
"And Byul-ah... You don't have to be jealous of Eric." Solar cupped Moonbyul's face.
"Why is that?"
"He's my younger cousin..."
"WHAT?! No way! But you're a Kim and he's a Nam"
"My Mom's side? Duh? Karma's a bitch, you always call me Yeba. Look who's talking now?"
Solar giggles and leans forward to give Moonbyul a peck. They laughed together then turn their head to watch the sun sets.
