Alarmed by the sound of a gun clicked to reload, I felt the stone-cold friction of the gun brushed against the back of my hair. I could hear him tapping on the phone with the other hand and the speaker was switched on.
"Ahjumma. Did you see what I have here?" Bo-Hyun said on the phone. I couldn't turn back since every time I tried to move a muscle, he would press the gun against my head to remind me. But I am certain he also had the video on to show my presence. All we could hear were sobbing noises from the other line. This made him grew impatient as he continued to threaten, "Do you not care for your daughter's life? Shall I just kill her then?"
'Daughter?... Which means, mom?!'
"Moonbyul-ah... My baby, mom is wrong. This is all my fault." She finally spoke, confirming her identity.
"Ahjumma, if I were you, I wouldn't waste my time weeping around. I'm a very impatient man."
"Why are you doing this to me. I did as you asked, I made Moonbyul leave Ggomo Residence, change school, separating them. I did everything!" Mom's voice quivered in fear and frustration.
"Ha!" Bo-Hyun cackled, "And you think that's enough to pay for Da Hee's life?"
"Well what else do you want me to do?! Kill myself?"
"Yes. Go kill yourself."
"W-What?"
"Confess to your murder of Lee Da Hee and kill yourself. Then I'll let your daughter go."
"Chairman Ahn. You do know your father Ahn Jae-Mo gave the orders to rape and kill Lee Da Hee." Wheein approached us carefully, pointing the rifle towards him but immediately stopped on track when he pushed my head with the gun he was holding.
"Shut the fuck up, this is all her fault! Moon Hee-Kyung, if you didn't send my father's men in the first place, he wouldn't ask them to rape her! And you, Moon Byul-Yi. Where were you when she needed you the most?"
"I... We had-" Fogged memories starts to clear as I revisit the past.

(flashback)
"A fight? You and Da Hee eonni? Ayyy... How can that be. What gives?"
"Ya Ahn Hye-Jin, how would you know about lover's fight you haven't been in any relationship before."
"Aish... You rude little bastard. I've watched at least 10 K-Dramas per week! So tell me, what happened? It's unusual because Da Hee eonni always forgives you for every stupid thing you do."
"What stupid thing?... Anyway, she wasn't ready to come out."
"I guess, who can blame her? She's the heiress to the Lee Lawyers & Co. Can you imagine what the media or board members will do or say if they found out she's gay?"
"But I thought we're determined enough to fight through this together."
"Hello? Are you dreaming?" Hwasa knocked my head, but I shove it away, "More like she's fighting all alone. What can a kid like you help her? Aish... Grow up already and join the law firm one day. THEN, you can both fight side by side."
"Huh... Y'know for a gluttonous lioness, you do have some wise words."
"Aish... You rude little b-" The sound of my phone vibrating cuts off our conversation while I pick up and asked, "Moonbyul speaking."
I got up from my chair and bolted out of the room with Hwasa catching up to me. We got on a cab together and arrived at a warehouse where the scene is surrounded by police and sealed off with yellow banners around it. An officer came to greet us, and I saw a body being carried with a stretcher and a hand fell out, dropping a shiny object that caused trinkling noises as it touched the ground.
I walked over to retrieve, only to tremble upon seeing the words 'MB♡DH' engraved on the inner layer of the ring. It was my 100 days anniversary gift for us, I have it engraved there so people would not question. But I've been impatient, I got mad at her, we fought, I lost her, forever.

"We... We fought that day. It was the first time we ever fought, and also the last." I said, struggling to speak while fighting back my tears but failed and it landed a few drops on Solar who is still unconscious.
Watching her peaceful face in amidst this chaos puts my mind at ease. 'If I die, you won't have to come out. In time, you will forget about me and find someone new. Someone you can bravely announce to the world as your husband. Not a girl.' I thought to myself.
I held her in my arms one last time hugging her close to me, allowing myself to absorb everything – her warmth, her soft breath, her smell. I whispered to her, 'Thank you for hanging in there and... I love you.'
I carried her in my arms as I stood up with Bo-Hyun yelling behind me, "What are you trying to do? Stop-"
"Kill me." I spoke. I could sense his confusion so I turned to him and repeated, "I said, kill me. Shoot me to death. It's my fault that Da Hee died, so I hope my death can make you feel less miserable."
"Finally! Your daughter is smarter than you are, ahjumma."
"No! Moonbyul, please don't do anything foolish... mom will do it. I will confess to the murder of Lee Da Hee and then I'll kill myself-"
"Mom." I stared directly into the camera, "I don't blame you, mom. I understand everything that you do, you did it for me. So, this is all on me. When I'm gone, you will not have to face the shame of having a gay daughter anymore."
"Moonbyul-ah, be good. Listen to mommy, okay? I'll do it, please don't do this to me, please. I've lost both your father and brother I can't lose you too."
"Ahn Bo-Hyun, before you end my life let me put Solar somewhere safe." I plead, "Please let Krystal go too..."
"Whatever. Consider it as a return for the grace Kim Tae-Pyung showed me at the AGM." He obliged, "But don't try anything funny you know your death is one trigger away." He then pointed his chin towards the pink-haired girl who were hung by the wrist with a rope, prompt to Amber that she can take her away. Amber wastes no time to cut off the rope and carried her out, far from harm's way.
I began to step away from him, walking towards Hwasa where Yonghwa's team finally joined us. I carefully placed Solar on Seulgi's back. As I turn my back, I felt a light tug on the back of my shirt. I dare not look back, knowing it will make things difficult for me to proceed.
A sobbing sound followed by a weak voice begged me, "Please... Don't die. Promise me that you will come back to me, safe and sound."
"I promise you, my sun." Shit. You're really making it hard for me, now I want to live and leave here, desperately.
