~Interview Day~

Ruby Gindles - District Two

"Ruby it's time to get up," our escort Leanna Ramal tells me, entering my room. I like Leanna. She confided in Tenlie and I that she doesn't like being an escort and she hates the Hunger Games as much as we do. She said that she would do anything she could to help us get ready for the Games.

"Interview day," she says. "Interview day," I repeat. I get up and quickly get dressed. I'll take a shower before interviews. Leanna and I walk down into the dining room to eat. Tenlie and our mentor, Jayden, are already there. "Hi," Tenlie says. I nod my head at her. "So, at five o' clock tonight you girls with go with Adele and Terry," Leanna informs us. "Okay," Tenlie and I say together.

Adele is my stylist and Terry is Tenlie's stylist. We finish our breakfast and then head back to our rooms. Soon enough, five comes and we head down to see our stylists.

"Hello Ruby," Adele says as I enter the room. "Hi." I wave at her. I sit down across from her on a couch. "Okay so the interviews are tonight," she begins. I nod. "My partner Terry and I decided to take your personalities and include them in your outfit," she continues, smiling. "We want your personalities to really show," she finishes. I nod. I like it. "So, we agreed that you and Tenlie have similar personalities- fiery, brave, perseverant- and the dresses we chose reflect that," Adele says.

Then she goes and gets the dress. I'm in shock when I first see it. The top is sleeveless, and it's a fiery orange with gold designs on it. The skirt is big, beautiful, and poufy. It has layers and layers of red and orange fabric which makes it poufy and big. "It's beautiful," I breath to Adele. "I'm glad you like it. Now the prep team will get you ready which will complete the look," she says.

I first take a long shower, scrubbing my body and washing my hair thoroughly. Once I get out, I dry off and then the prep team gets to work. They do the skin stuff and then it's time for makeup, hair, and nails. My prep team are Nova, Alayna, and Flynn. Nova is doing my hair, Alayna is doing my makeup, and Flynn is doing my nails. I sit still as they do their things. It takes a while, but eventually they finish. I look at myself in the mirror.

Nova has done two big buns with my red hair, and it looks awesome. Flynn's nails are like flames, with shades of red and orange all beautifully mixed together. And Alayna's makeup tops it all off. There is magnificent orange and yellow eyeshadow, lots of shimmery powder, and orange lipstick. "It looks so nice!!" I exclaim.

Finally, I get to change into my dress. Once I put it on, I just know that's it's magical. It's the floatiest thing I've ever worn. The whole look looks incredible.

"Ruby, you look stunning," Adele tells me. "Thank you," I beam. I also have to wear high heels which I've never worn before so I kind of wobble but get used to it after I walk around the room a couple times. It's time to head down after a little bit. We meet Tenlie and her stylist in the hall, she is wearing a similar outfit but also different. "You look great," I tell her as we walk down. "So do you," she says with a smile. We get lead to a room with all the other tributes.

Caesar Flickerman begins talking to the audience from the stage. "And say hello to Serena Hemmings!" He announces. My stomach churns. Only five people and then it will be me.
